Couple's Retreat beautiful soundtrack ...

A.R. Rahman - Sajna Lyrics

Lyrics | A.R. Rahman - Sajna lyrics

Baby Logan Tan ...

o.Oh Hello Baby Logan Tan,

Welcome to the world you little baby tiger boy... weighing in at 3kg, 48 cm.. 6.17pm.. aaawwwwww...

Remember these two? Well... It is now time to say
" Congratulations to TommyTKC and Elaine" who has now officially become parents to a beautiful baby boy...

*muah*

I just can't help it but love babies.. they are just so so so cute and beautiful beyond words.. the innocence in them. *sigh*

IzGrace and the SimonYap clan headed to Klang to visit the newborn and the new parents and wow.. I forgot how is it like to be carrying a newborn. It really just sets off your motherly instinct, and of course, in my case, memories of Jaden's newborn days came flooding back.

I got to carry Logan despite Hubby opposing to it. Hubby is just scared of the little one where the neck still does not have strength, or maybe it just ain't his kid and that makes him even more scared than ever to handle a newborn. I remember him being a natural with Jaden last time. =) =)

Jaden came to see the baby!

Elaine has got through the birth without any anesthetic help, which seemed a little traumatic to me when she told us her birth story. I am sure she will get over it once the little baby coos to her, grabs on to her tightly, curling his oh so tiny fingers around her...

My respect to her for going through the natural birth without the help of any other medicine and having to endure all those pain. *hats down* I am sure I am not that strong a woman to go through those pain...

All in all, he is a beautiful healthy boy borned and both mother and son are just as lovely as ever!

...Ungraceful ageing...

I look into the mirror and all I see is a 27 year old, now feeling like a 37. But how does a 37 year old feel for real, I would not know for that would be 10 years down the road for me to find out... but still..

The signs of ageing is starting to show on me so prominent.

The wrinkles around my eyes, crowfeet tells me I am no longer the youthful girl I once used to be, not caring a thing for eye creams and now here I am, trying to figure out which eye cream would work best for me to at least delay those signs showing on me..

The elasticity of the skin, once like the baby's smooth butt is now dry and haggard, with proofs of struggles with a young padawan at home, *abusing* those one slim arms (now fat), the roughness of the hands once pampered with lots of hand lotions (now, there is no time for all these when handling a 2 yo) and the dryness that follows under the hot rays of sun.

Caring for the body from outside, applying tons of layers of protection can only be seen as a once in a blue moon treat just because I can never really sit down and find time to do all these. Motherly duties call all the time and not wanting to apply them on only to wash them all off again, after running after the boy and sweating it all away.

Hubby would have allowed me to get whatever skincare range I want for myself but seeing that it could only be a waste of money in my case (at the moment), I guessed I will just have to save on it and re-think about it when the young one grows up a bit more and get more settled compared to now...

So from now on, my birthday wishes from now on would only be:_

Hoping for the best of health for all my family members and myself and graceful ageing.. with lots of happiness following suit.. =)

Ungraceful ageing -one of the biggest fear of all women I think.. or is it mankind? Hmmm

Wives on an island

It all started wtih Gwen posting a comment on my page, right after her Japan trip, saying she badly needs a holiday.

The nonsense then started rolling with WWei agreeing to what she said, and then facebook messages were sent out among the girls and right soon after, it became a full-fledged planned girly trip, supposedly for everybody to meet up and the only time everybody might be back in Penang/Malaysia would be the Chinese New Year time.

Mind you, the email was sent out very early September and just in a matter of that one day, everybody came to an agreement of choosing a local beach destination. Me, being the housewife at home, with lots of time compared to those working ladies, I was in charged of doing more research on hotels, flights and getting everybody to agree on that one date to go off together.

The trip was to start of with at least 5 of us in mind -Gwen, PChern, WWei, SChee & I. We knew Evon couldn't really make it cause of work commitments and her family might just take off for some CNY getaway instead.

Nearing the date, Gwen pulled out by saying she has a case going on that month and she needs to be in Australia. SChee then told me like a month earlier before the trip that she might not be able to make it due to work commitments too.. both of us kept quiet till nearing the date, 3 weeks before informing the other 2 girls and the trip nearly got canceled.

I, of course was really disappointed because I was so looking forward to this trip but if the heart ain't there, whats the use of going anyway right? In the end, both my girlfriends then made up the mind to just go and whee! SChee arranged everything to change to my name in hotel booking and in a blink of an eye, the day arrived.

I drove myself to the airport at 5am in the morning. Reached LCCT at about 6am, parked there and checked in and flew off.

Waited for the two girls to arrived half hour later than I at the other airport while I go about and tried to nego my way through with the car rentals. Pricing was crazy! I flew in from KL and the two flew in from Penang. In the end, I had the help of my father to source for me the cheapest rate for a 2 day 1 night use of a car.

We stopped by Pantai Cenang for breakfast first as it was still too early to be doing anything else and we were all hungry. It was a nice breakfast bar, which I researched the night before to see where we could dine and wined. Thankfully I did what I did. If not we would be wandering aimlessly around the island, not knowing where to go eat breakfast!

After that, we drove over to the hotel, which was located in the city. It was beautiful! Security was really tight at the hotel too. They just don't let anybody drive into the hotel. I like!

We checked in to the hotel but was informed room will only be ready at about 3pm. Shucks! It was only 11am then. WWei then decided to change in to short pants/skirt as the weather was quite hot. Both those girls were already sweating in their pants. Literally and physically! PChern decided to change only when we checked into the room. So off we went to duty free shops we saw along the way when we drove to the hotel and did some shopping first.

WWei was already feeling chilly, and we suspected that she might be coming down with fever, since she also mentioned that she has sore throat. Without thinking twice, we drove to the nearest pharmacy and made her buy panadol and some lozenges. It helped quite abit after she took two pills. We headed back to the hotel and hung out at the Breeze lounge while waiting to check into our room.

Service was great! View was fantastic! Our luggages were already taken to the room for us. Nice!

The receptionist actually came to the lounge to find us to inform us that our room was ready. Good kan? Right after we settled down in the room, we changed and headed to the pool. PChern couldn't join us to dip in the pool due to personal reasons, so it was only WWei and I. Dipping in the infinity pool, sipping to our drinks. Me and my beer, she and her some bealthy celery kiwi drink (yuck) we took quite a lot of photos.

We headed back to the room at about 5pm, bathed and all. WWei had heat rash then. *LOL* I know its really bad of me to laugh at her but she looked swollen here and there. We waited a bit for her swelling to subside and off we went to search for dinner.

We headed back to Pantai Cenang since she wanted to buy some batik sarong tie dress and only at this beach, we saw a number of nice looking ones compared to those in town. I actually wanted to have seafood but those girls weren't really a big fan of seafood and the smaller one can't be taking grilled stuff, so oh wells, might as well be safe and enjoy the rest of the holiday!

After dinner, we walked and shopped around a bit before heading back to call it a night. By the time we were all done, bathed and all, it was only about 11pm. PChern and I then finished a bottle of ice wine to ourselves and drank a few cups of Baileys too. The hotel sent us ice in a bucket! It was so good to drink it with the Baileys.

We then do best what we do best when we get together. We gossiped and after a while, guess the early morning trip did took a toil on us and we fell asleep quite an instant once lights were out. It was about 1am then.

I was the first to wake up and use the shower at about 7am. By 730am, everybody was awaken up by me because of my stupid snoozed alarm. *tee hee*

We only left for breakfast at about 9am, after both those girls dilly-dallied. So many bottles of dunnowhat to apply on WWei's face, PChern was busy trying to stuff her bag silly in order to shut it properly.

Speaking of bags! WAH! I thought I was already over the top with the clothes I brought over just for a 2 days 1 nigth trip. Those girls beat me hands down! Especially WWei who told me the night before she is only bringing a small hand luggage. She brought over 2 FILLED UP TO THE BRIM FULL hand luggages. *shakes head*

Breakfast was good.. and so was what that happened after.

Three of us had a spa session each at 20% discount. Some chocolate mask spa and all three of us fell asleep when wrapped in the chocolate. The spa area too was wonderful. So serene. PChern's and my room was next to the beach, so we could also hear the birds chirping outside. The spa did indeed live up to their name -Heavenly Spa.

After spa, we headed out to the town again to buy whatever we wanted to buy back home. I bought more chocolates for Jaden, 2 dark chocolates, 3 long Heineken tins @ RM3.30 per tin and a carton of ciggie for Hubby and 1 Reese Peanut Butter chocolate for myself. PChern was sweet enough to give me the unfinished bottle of Baileys to bring home too. *gRin* Sweet isn't it?

I left for the airport first since my flight was like 2 1/2 hrs earlier than both of them. They decided to take a cab to the airport instead. They bought chicken rice from the town and took it back to the beach area by the spa to eat and enjoy.

By the time I was queuing to board my plane, both of them just reached the airport.

*sigh* It was really a good trip. I think it is one of the best thing that could have ever happened to me in 2010, in terms of getting together with the girlies!

but but but, the one person who made it all happen for me is still Hubby. Without him, I don't think I would be able to afford to go on sucha holiday. Thank you baby! =)

Goodbye Moo, Hello Kitty =)

The SimonYap clan left for Aunt Lin's at about 630pm. Jaden's and my 3rd reunion dinner with the family.

Sis-in-law & I

This year, we have a new person that joined us at the dinner table, Edmond's latest girlfriend. *sniff* Bye Kelly!

From L-R (Standing-Seating) : Aunt Lin, Herman, Pa-in-law, Edmond & Girlfriend, Joyce, Yvonne, (my empty seat), Hubby and Aunty Diana

Anyway, this year, Pa-in-law decided to grace us with his presence at the dinner table compared to last year, which is good, because what use is a reunion dinner when all family members aren't present to eat the good food together. Of course it will be complete if Ma-in-Law and Raymond could have joined us, too but they have never joined the table together before with us. The last I remembered them joining us was only at my wedding. =)

Pa-in-law was so cute. When he arrived and I acknowledged his presence there by calling him "Father", he nodded and smile at me. Two minutes later, he was looking for Jaden's mother to pass the angpow to. *sigh* When he passed me the angpow to give to Jaden, he told me married people don't get angpows anymore. Hahahaha.. well, that has been happening since 3 years ago right? I only got one angpow from him before and that was the one and only time before I was married into the family. That too, I wasn't even there in person to receive it.

I was really glad to hear that Pa-in-law was joining us and there was quite a lot of good food laid out on the table. *respect* Aunt Lin cooked it all by herself and it was wonderful-lah to be eating homecooked food cooked by somebody else.

My rude young brother-in-law, Herman, who a few days earlier told me that he had never cared for reunion dinners in his whole life. Mind you, he is only 19 but well, I don't really care if he was there at the table or not. The important people were there and I am happy. I only want the elders to be there. =)

The youngest member of the Yap clan -sleeping away

Jaden fell asleep before dinner started and woke up cranky, crying just before Hubby and I finished our dinner. Grandpa Yap tried to bribe him with ice-cream only to be retaliated with more angry shrieks and cries. Everybody said that Jaden is too garang to go near. Hubby and I just left him on the floor crying while we finished our dinner, just because the small one is crying and throwing tantrum for no apparent reason. We don't give in to such unacceptable behaviours.

I guess Jaden's crying made everybody scared and soon after, like a good 5 minutes or so, everybody disappeared. Some went out to meet their friends, some went home almost immediately and some went and hid inside their room. *LOL* Its almost cartoon-like how everybody quickly vanished when a baby cries.

Jaden finally calmed down and ate his dinner when everybody has left. Almost everybody. *sigh*

and then, that was it. End of reunion dinner.

The Reunion Dinner Dishes (guess which one is mine and Hubby's rice plate?)

Reunion dinners over here in KL is different from the reunion dinners I had for the past 22 years of my life in Perlis. We usually have dishes accompanied by steamboat which I will just whacked masuk my tummy till late at night. Here, its mostly just dishes, and of course soup.. well, guess different places and family will have its different cultures and I just have to live with it as long as I belong to the SimonYap clan.

Me rambling rambangly

Hubby is out again tonight. Work cum party cum dinner calls. *sigh* It should have been me instead of EddyHan beside him for all these functions, damnit! BUT oh wells... *bangs head on wall - REALITY CHECK - OH I HAVE A TWO YEAR OLD TO TAKE CARE OF!

anyway, that is besides the point of this blogpost.

Jaden vomitted twice two days ago, slight fever comes and go. We have only fed him the cough meds so far. Hopefully his cough will be better in time. His poo is starting to become the soft, mushy type nearly going into the diarrheoa category but at the moment, still in safe zone as in maybe he poos only once or twice a day, which is normal for him. Making him drink lots of fluids to wash out the heat. The weather can really get unpleasant when Chinese New Year is around the corner.

Jaden has already done his CNY shopping.. clothes count so far, a set of samfu by Kai-Ma Joy who went to Shanghai about two years ago. Yea, now only he can fit into them. Just right for CNY. A hot pink shirt to go with his daddy, two more other t-shirts and three short jean pants, an orange slipper (daddy's idea of being funky) and well, a pyjama pants.

Me? I have clothes that sits hanging in my closet, not worn yet since I purchased them, and then some recent ones from online shopping. I kind of like online shopping now that I mostly spend my time at home because it really saves me the hassle and carrying the heavy loads of stuff back home in paper bags and plastic bags. I like receiving mail! *gRin* I got myself a pair of new shoes at 50% too. I like!

Hubby? The only CNY shopping he did was to get himself a pair of white sneakers since his old one is like some washed out white turned light brown shoe now.. He deserved the new shoes anyway. It will last him for about another 5 years maybe? LOL

Chinese New Year here in KL is really not happening at all, compared to all the hoo haas of my side of relatives smiling, greeting, gossiping, eating together. Here, its somehow just doesn't have the touch. it is so quiet, its like almost any other day... *sigh* I really have to make a mental note that I would want to bring Jaden back with me to Penang next year to celebrate Chinese New Year. I am sure he is really big enough to enjoy and meet ALL my relatives.. Eat and Be Merry. Somehow, I think that is the motto of my relatives.

o.Oh I forgot about one place that made me feel like I am back in my hometown and that is in Banting.

You know, this one day, Iz asked me where we would be going for CNY? If we were going back to hometown?

So I replied and say Banting, to see Ah Ma..

Yea, that is one place that makes us feel welcomed anytime.. Jaden loves it there too! I am sure he will look forward to going there every CNY when he grows up until his hormones shoot up and starts to be interested in the female species.

I am also looking forward to this one planned girly holiday getaway with two of my girlfriends. Since one backed out on us, its gonna be just us, the wives going. Woo hoo~ I really got to start my research on where to go eat, drink and shop for stuff. The beach, sun and seafood is good enough to satisfy my need of a breakaway... for now. *gRin* at least for 2010 I think since I can foresee quite a lot of spending to be done this year.

Hubby has taught Jaden to say a new word.. but that too, sometimes had to forced out when the little one only wants something. The word is.. P L E A S E .... yes, finally my boy can say please.. Yay!

Biscuit biscuit chop chop?

Housework must be done!

I had initially plan to wake up at about 7am to do some housework when everybody is still asleep. It makes life easier to be doing it when nobody is around to be in the way of some wet mops and dust flying around but I forgot all about noise reduction from the vacuum cleaner, thus, work is still incomplete until the small one wakes up.

Got up at about 830am and did the dishes, pour the cooled water into the tumbler and boil more water for the day's consumption. I can foresee a lot of water consumed today by Hubby. Since he feels like he is falling sick, I cooked some 'leong cha' (herbal tea) and now, it is set aside to cool down so I can pour it into the tumbler as well.

Water all cooked, I decided that since I can't be vacuuming just yet, I might as well just sweep the floor, mop it like three times then when both the boys are up, I will just vacuum whatever that is left not swept away.

and I totally forgot about Mr. Muscle sprayed all around in my master bedroom toilet. *shit* The smell of the acidic cleaner was so strong that it woke Hubby up, enough to scream to get my ass to the room to only remember about what I did the first thing when I got into the toilet.

I quickly then scrubbed the floor clean, the toiletbowl and the walls. Sprayed the water to wash it all down the drain but the drain is a little clogged up. *sigh* So I have to do it in like two turns after the water subside. I still have a few more rounds to go to have a clean presentable toilet but that will also just have to wait until both the boys wake up...

So I proceeded on to wipe the TV cabinet clean of dust, arranged Jaden's CDs and now here I am, procrastinating about wiping the dust off the book shelves. *sigh* I know I have to get my ass up to do all these. Chinese New Year is just around the corner and I have to do these necessary spring cleaning. i know I have to and I want to.. just that when the computer is on, I am like magnetically drawn to it. Damnit! Will do it soon. Maybe in a while, after I clean the toilet and while waiting for the laundry to be done.. I will do it.. speaking of which, I have to wash the rabbits' room too.

So today, will be my day of cleaning up the house as much as I can.. then maybe proceed on to the room to clean up more and start packing things up into boxes. Jaden has outgrew so many many clothes of his and the bag that stores his newborn - 1yo clothes is going to explode if I am going to stuff some more in. Have to pack in another box now.. so many tihngs to pack! I can be quite a hoarder too.. just not as bad as Hubby. LOL

So till then, have a great weekend everybody and have a good CNY shopping if you guys are doing it!

I am going to do my 10 days countdown now.. woo hoooooo~

Frustrations ...

.. and I, alone, would only know about it... no one else..

when the boy is extremely naughty or doing dangerous stunts ..

The boy has developed a few new BAD HABITS this time round.

We thought he was over the phase of climbing up the TV cabinet but NOOOOO.. he climbs up to the DVD player and Astro decoder and decides that pressing the buttons are real fun. I know, its a kid's thing but still, the electrical wires are there and there are limited stand space for him to stand properly. Should he panic, he would have lost footing and fall head down first. It happened once before but luckily, the boy was able to cushioned his fall slowly by using his hands but how many times can he get lucky?

I always take the cane and whack him each time I see him do that. Of course its not instant caning. I would give him warning. I would ask him to come down first. Nicely. Second time, I would say I will whack already and will start counting 1, 2 and 3. By the count of 2 and he is still not down, the first soft whack will land on his legs. Third time round when he challenges me and climb up there again, I whack without counting. Sometimes one hard whack, sometimes two just to get my message across.

Jaden totally understands when I say "Come Down or Leg first!" but he always does it when I turn my back, even for a second to do the dishes. Should I just keep caning him till he gets it that HE SHOULDN"T CLIMB UP THERE? but the father will only accuse me of abusing his precious son. *sigh* dilemma dilemma!

The second irritating thing is that he always, at any chance he gets, will put his hands into his diaper and play with his penis. I find it so unhygenic. Who knows if he had peed? Playing with it really irks me out and I always tell him NO NO... cannot play like that.. but he will still stick his hands in and give me a cheeky smile. The father might find it amusing but I really find it a nasty dirty habit. So instead of caning, I whack his hands with my hands instead. He learns not to do it for a while but when I turn my back, he is back at one again. How lah to deal with him?

The only option I am left with now is to let him wear pants long enough with no chance of hole opening for his hands to reach his penis. The weather is so hot these days, I thought it would be just nice for him to be in shirt and diapers but since he is misbehaving, he can go sweat in his balls now! (pun intended)

The third dangerous stunt he does now is to climb onto the sofa to reach up to the upper part of the divider. It is so dangerous because he might just fall down from the sofa, and if the sofa doesn't cushion his fall, he will just fall straight down on to the cold hard floor. Worse still, hit the sharp edges of the divider anc cut something *touch wood* but yea, that is the third dangerous stunts he is up to at the moment. The RM2 I paid for the cane is really worth the money paid in situations like these.

The fourth thing that really piss the shit out of me is that now whenever he drinks water from his sippy cup, he will store them up in his mouth and when he thinks no one is paying attention to what he is doing, he will spit the water out either on the floor or the TV cabinet. TV cabinet is the one that will make me whack him hard because firstly, the TV is there, he might get electrocuted. Second, the TV is so damn expensive and is one of my two entertainment source (the other -computer) and if he really spoils it, I would have been so angry but in the end, I will be the one getting all the blasting so why me when I can whack him first?

If its the floor he spits water on, he will lie onto the water to cover his bad deeds, but well, mothers know best when their children is up to no good and this is one of them. I will grab him up and whack him too because he might just decide to get up and walk and then slip and hit his head hard on to the floor. Or the father might slipped too on the floor *touch wood* but the father must not slipped at all! and best still, the boy's shirt gets so wet that might just make him catch cold and its off to the doctor. I hate it when the boy gets sick because that is one thing I blame myself for. Its one thing that I can prevent and there he goes getting himself sick because he watns to play with water.

I should have just throw him into the swimming pool if he wants to play with water so much but the boy turns out to not be such a hero when he is there. In fact, he is scared of the swimming pool or any tub of water I want to put him in to bathe. My boy now bathes standing up... easier for me to carry him out from the bathroom instead when he is lying in his baby bathtub. Backs can break carrying him I tell you!..

So tell me, won't you be as frustrated as I am when you are caught in these situations and sometimes have to control your anger just because his bodyguard is staring dead at you when you lift your hands up to whack him? One cry is enough to make the father ask me to stop whacking him. Its not as if I whack crazy.. its just enough for me to get the message across to him to not do these things I don't want him to.

I really hate to threaten Jaden with the cane. I really hate to shout at the little boy. I think kids should enjoy their childhood, have a happy one where smiles are plastered over mummy's , daddy's and baby's face but with Jaden doing all these dangerous stunts, HOWWWWWWW lah not to cane him?

Funny thing is that whenever Jaden cries, or he falls down and have a boo boo, I tend to leave him alone to cry himself satisfied and let him be ok on his own. Unless its a big fall that I know hurts a lot, then only I will go and check out the pain and see if he needs medical attention but usually, I will just leave him to cry himself out.. so one thing good about Jaden is that he only cries for a few seconds, 1 minute the most and then he forgets about it and goes about his other naughty stunts...

The difference is that he behaves better when its just me and him at home or anywhere out there. When the father is around, all hell breaks loose. Its true! *sigh*

Sometimes after all the whacking, scolding, I look at Jaden and he smiles back at me, kisses me and mommy is forgiven, I feel like a twat! All I want to tell him is that despite all these beatings and scoldings, I love him very very much!

i am such a twat twat twat!

Hwangjini

Lately, I have been busy watching this another Korean drama. Maybe it was the life of those olden days that appealed to me, or maybe it was just all the drama going on but damn, the episodes can be really touching and make tears flow easily.

This drama I am talking about was a 2006 TV series aired in Korea. They have been airing it on KBS world every Mon-Thurs night at 1010pm.

Its called Hwangjini.

A story about a gisaeng, a talented woman in the area of performing arts but have a tragic fate in her love life. Now that is already drama right?

Its lovely how KBS world is so thoughtful to provide english subtitles to all the dramas they are airing. I like!

At first, when I saw the ads for the drama and I didn't think much of it. Then one night, I sat down and watched the last 30 minutes of it and I was hooked till the end. In fact I am so hooked to it, I am now youtubing it for the last three episodes. It is just the Internet that is stopping me from enjoying my show because of its slow download speed. So potong stim!

and the hotties in the show.. Kim Jae Won

and Jang Geun Suk..

hehehe.. well, they are not as hot as Kim Hyun Joong or Lee Min Ho but ok-lahhhhh.. LOL still, young boys they all are.. except for Kim Jae Won who is 29 this year .. =)

Will be feeling sad once this show ends.. looking forward to another drama to take me in again!!!

p/s: I am still faithfully watching Jolly Widows too.. am at episode 120 something.. and I have a feeling its coming to an end soon too since the father had got his memory back! *sigh*
