BB Boy's birthday at home

I guess this will become a tradition every year as long as the couple that comes over every year stays nearby.

Jaden turns THREE on 28 Sept 2010.

Time has zoom past us in a flash and suddenly, I have a 3 year old birthday to plan for.

Sharp at 12am, we all gathered round the kitchen table, baby boy seated in his throne (babychair) and we sang him his customary Happy Birthday song.

Baby boy felt a little awkward, requesting for me to be near him and boy, oh boy, how his eyes gleamed at the sight of the birthday cake.

He can't wait to sink his teeth into the cake.

We had a Blackforest Cheesecake purchased from Secret Recipe for this home celebration and it actually tasted realllllll good. MMmmm..

Baby boy played around with Uncle Gyn, Aunty Maddy, Grace and Kai-yeh for a while before they headed home.

We gave him a FourFourTwo as his first birthday present of 2010 because we knew he would really appreciate the mag, which he did! He is still reading it up till today
*edited 12 Oct 2010*

Hubby and I took him out to Chillis for his birthday dinner this year. Nothing much but just more hugs and kisses for the little boy. It was rather a well-spent family day together.

Next, his mini party on Saturday... =)

Becoming Mrs Cheah 260910

Joy and I took another trip together. This time, down south to Kluang, Johor. We left KL at about 10pm and made our way there at about 1230am, but the drive in from the toll till the Kluang town took another 1/2 hr. So 3 hours drive in total.

Sharon and Cheah drove out to guide us to her lounge where a birthday party and their bachelor parties were taking place. Alas, both Joy and I were so tired, we decided its best to go have a small meal and konk out after that.

Sharon's father was kind enough to house us in his friend's apartment for free lodging and accompanied us girls, Joy, Sharon and I for a quick bite. Sharon is so lucky to have one cool dad! I sure hope one day Jaden's friends are going to say the same thing about his father. *gRin*

Early next morning, Sharon took us and her in-laws to the infamous ORIGINAL Kluang railway station kopitiam. The ambience inside the kopitiam sure gives out a nolstagic feeling but too bad for us, it was fully seated so we settled for outside. I love the two versions of their roti bakar and was just downing coffee ice to keep myself fueled for the day's event.

Of course, we camwhored too at the place, making full use of our tourist status. It was sure fun to be able to take pictures with these girlfriends of mine, although it would have been more complete if SueKingKong was there. Then the B.O.B production team would have been complete. (Bag-of-Bones)

We followed Sharon back to her house for her tea sessions. (her side of the family) and Joy, who only had a 2-3 hours sleep last night konked out again in Sharon's bedroom. A very good move because we will be heading back to KL after dinner and we don't want a tired driver behind the wheels, do we?

By the time Joy woke up, it was time to go have our hair and makeup done. Hair, we love but we can't say the same thing about the make up. I think it is the worst I'd ever gotten and I absolutely hate it. I am sorry, SharonSer but the makeup is really that bad. If I knew it would turn out like this, I would not have even wanted it for free. Next time, when an 'aunty' is the makeup artist, please do not do it! Regret kao kao! I would have look better off making myself up!

Well, but then this night is all about Sharon and Cheah and they both look absolutely great together. Both Sherene (SharonSer's younger sister) and I were shedding tears when both father and daughter were walking down the aisle.. *sigh* Its quite a beautiful wedding.. but aren't all weddings are supposed to be like that?

I enjoyed myself tremendously that night. The dinner wrapped up at about 10pm and we were on our way back at about 11pm after we got back to the apartment to change and wash off the ugly 'mask' we got on...

Quotes -True or False?

You forgive and you forget -FALSE-

I don't think its human nature to truly 100% forgive and forget another person's misdoings to you. Even if you forgave that person, I don't think the trust you placed in that person would be 100% like before. Therefore the quote is false.

When anger rises, think of the consequences.
Confucius
Speak when you are angry and you will make the best speech you will ever regret. -TRUE-
Ambrose Bierce

How often do we regret after saying all those things that we don't mean, spoken out of anger and then expect the other person to forget about it because it was anger talking? Sorry, not me.

Your life is what your thoughts make it.
Marcus Aurelius
Never be bullied into silence. Never allow yourself to be made a victim. Accept no one's definition of your life; define yourself. -TRUE-
Harvey Fierstein

If you think your life sucks, then it does but if you think life is beautiful, it is actually very beautiful. The sounds of a beating heart, the laughter and smiles of a child, the caresses of a lover and the pride of achieving your goals. Aren't all these beautiful? The blue skies and warm rays of the sun on your skin ... life is too short to think its not worth living. People may call you names but as long as you are happy with the way you live, why not? Its your life afterall...

'Tis better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all.
Alfred Lord Tennyson
True love is like ghosts, which everyone talks about and few have seen.
Francois de la Rochefoucauld
All love shifts and changes. I don't know if you can be wholeheartedly in love all the time. -TRUE-
Julie Andrews

We often used the first quote when we went through breakups, and using that quote makes us feel a tiny weeny better that we have experienced love but true love is really hard to come by where two souls stay faithful and ever so in love with each other, where their love grows for each other everyday. Ain't that sweet? but then in reality, the numbers proved that humans do stray apart even after pledging their undying love for one another or a love that fizzles out ... Sad but true...

Come to think of it, I think quotes are made up to console us who desperately needs positive thoughts on ugly human nature. *sigh*

Bringing the bride home

Date :: 18 September 2010
Day :: Saturday ::

Time :: 6am - 6pm ::

Destination :: Ipoh ::

Reason :: Bride hand-over

Joy reached my house sharp at 6am and before our journey began, we stopped over at the Restoran Jejantas to buy her breakfast. She needs food to fuel her mind and body except that the breakfast was damn sucky, according to her!

Jaden only decided he wanted to sleep half hour before we reached Ipoh and he slept straight off for 3 whole hours. By the time he woke up, Joy and I were already in the bride's room teasing the bride about her skinny frame.

We reached Ipoh at about 815am and Cheah lead the way to SharonSer's place. It was still quite early and when the bride appeared out to reverse her car out for us so we could park in the porch and let Jaden sleep while we stretch our backs and take in the fresh cool air. Behind the house was the oil palm plantation and the pleasant morning breeze were rather welcoming.

Sharon's mother prepared the bottom room for me while I moved Jaden from the car into the room to let him continue his beauty sleep. Joy and I then proceeded to help with the ingredients that will be use for the games later on. Oh boy! I feel the 'heat' for them boys!!!

Since I was the only one married in the house, other than Sharon's mother, I was told to say some good things as they veil her. Not a very smart idea when it comes to saying good things in Cantonese from me.. even the good may sound obscene. But saying these good things can be really rewarding -YAY! Angpow!

We, the bridesmaids, took a few photos with the bride before the troop of 'brothers' arrive and then, that was when things really got 'hot' and funny!

Every single thing we do, we ask for angpow! Blood-suckers I tell you.. We played the doughnut and banana game where the brothers have to lick and eat from the groom's private areas. *eew* and then the chilli padi-fied orange chiffon cake, wasabi orange chiffon cake and salted orange chiffon cake. Then we have the boys eat from the diaper a very disgusting looking diarrhea look-a-like dalcha tomato and onions. Last thing to eat was the ultimate and that was the BOMB I tell you, fully chilli-powdered, wasabi-ed and chilli tuna to mask the evil beneath.

Before we let the groom in to claim his bride, whom he had suffered so much for, he had to write a contract promising SharonSer a number of stuff and to read it aloud for the bride to hear and approve. It was really sweet when he finally unveil the bride and give her a kiss.

Sharon's mother burst into tears when her daughter poured her tea. I can understand now why she cried. I would too if it was my daughter who is marrying. They grow up so fast.. if only they could remain a baby forever where we could pamper and coo at them. *sigh*

Quinn, Sharon's another friend joined us on our trip back to KL. Next week's destination, KLUANG.

Soon-to-be Mrs.

She told me in July that her wedding will be in September. Thats when I thought "ok.. still a long way to go" and suddenly, I realized that it is actually taking place tomorrow. Oh my! Now that is really super duper fast.

It has been quite a bitch finding the perfect white dress to wear to her morning session, as requested by the bride, but oh well, she gets to be the queen for her day.

Tomorrow, Joy and I will be driving down early to Mr. Cheah's state to watch her parents hand her over to Mr. Cheah's family and *sob* may it be a happily ever after story for this friend of mine.

I am just afraid to see what lies for me tomorrow because Jaden will be tagging along with me on this trip and I forsee him an unhappy boy for his disturbed sleep. The little one has to wake up as early as 5am tomorrow to get ready before Joy arrives. That means, me having to get up earlier than everyone else in this house. Reminds me so much like when I have to get up early to send Gwen to KLIA. Hrruummpphh! September seems like a month of getting up before sunrises for me. Where for art thou, my beauty sleep?

I am so excited now that I can hardly do a thing but I have lots to do before tomorrow comes. *sigh* I am so procrastinating again.. got to go and do everything I have to do before I leave for my trip up north! =) and next weekend, down south!

Bz Bz!!

Already ?

OMG! Is it that time of the year again? So fast??

*sigh*

Its about two weeks to Jaden's birthday and it felt like I just organized one yesterday, or maybe two... Its always a head-banger to think what to do for his birthday cake, where to hold it and who can make it to his party.

It feels like its Simon's and my party instead of Jaden because the guests are mostly our friends. I don't think Jaden would want uncles and aunties in his party next time when he grows older.. he would have either wanted his own gang of cowboys or chicas! *gRin*

I did not really plan for his birthday party this year because I thought enough of the big hoo haa celebration until he has his own friends but it seems that he does have his own friends. Maybe just 2 but hes not the buddy buddy type of boy to go hold hands or rub shoulders with you. The two are his classmates from school and both of them are girls! *shakes head*

This year round, its quite easy to choose a birthday cake for him. He loves hot wheels at the moment. One can tell if they step foot into my house because there will be one here and there and everywhere. One of the reasons why I am pulling my hair out. The mess I tell you! Funny he only like classic cars though.. not all those Ferrari , modern cars.. just classic muscle cars, mustangs and corvette sorts.

Cake done, location has just been found, waiting for revised quotations and I am thinking about hiring a balloon sculpting artist.. or maybe I should just get helium balloons and let the kids knock themselves out with it. It all boils down to $$ and oh boy, this sure cost as much as my 2010 birthday present from Hubby.

Boy oh boy! Tomorrow I will have to head down to venue and pay the deposit and start to think what to dress the boy in for his birthday party! AARRRGGHHHH!

Too much to think about too much! but then again, I do enjoy organizing stuff like that... its fun! So well, to those that have attended his previous birthday parties, its that time of the year again!!!

Godmothers and Godfather, he has been a very good boy this year. *ahem*

Sesame Street Live 2010 @ KL

Eversince I heard that Sesame Street was coming to town, I knew I had to get my hands on the ticket so Jaden would be able to go and watch and enjoy the show, one of the few shows that he would recognize the characters. Afterall, his first VCD was Sesame Street.

Then, when the time came, ticket price announced, I was a little devastated because it was quite highly priced. RM155 for the 1st tier seating and they charge kids full price too. Well, even with the Toys'R'Us Starcard, you get a 10% off but that would still come up to about RM420. So I thought I would let it slide until just a week before Sesame Street Live starts showing, the advertisement came on TV and Jaden got really excited and happy just seeing it. I knew I had to get it no matter how much it cost then.

Robbing my Hubby his money, I drove down to One Utama Axcess Ticket outlet and bought 3 tickets for 20% off. Who says sometimes getting your tickets late is a no good thing. It beats buying early bird 10% promotion. *gRin*

We went for the opening night and boy! It was happy-fyings! Hubby is finally meeting Cookie Monster in person after 31 years of his life and Elmo was just plain obscene naked but cute! Jaden enjoyed himself tremendously. He laughed, he sat and watched, he concentrated. He loved it! Money totally well spent!

Storyline was good, the characters were lovely and well-designed. Background sets were nicely done up. The only thing is Grover put on weight! Songs were nice and I think almost everybody in the hall that night had fun!

I have only one complaint and that is after paying so much for the show, they should at least offer some picture taking opportunities with the kids, even if that mean charging money because I am sure most parents would not mind forking out another few ringgit for their kids to take picture with their favourite Sesame Street monster.

BUT it is all good. The whole of SimonYap clan loved it! The boys are happy, I am happy.

p/s: Seeing how Jaden enjoyed it, laughed at some parts made me tear up just because I realized he is growing up so fast. Where did my baby go?? =)
