Falthering ...

I, (name), take you (name), to be my (wife/husband), to have and to hold from this day forward, for better or for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish; from this day forward until death do us part.

Somebody roll him over x5 and ignore him !

Did you hear, read or watched that traumatic video of a 2 year old getting rolled over again and again by vehicles passing by without receiving any help from passers by until a garbage collector aunty came to her aid, but I would have assumed by the first gelek, the girl would have been done for but might / could be saved if only the driver got out and quickly send her to the hospital. Instead, he decided to run her over one more time and RUN!

What the hell is wrong with these people? and the best thing out of this whole horror freak accident? You will just fumed yourself crazy after hearing what that heartless murderer said.

"'I only need to pay (up to) 20k RMB if she dies, if she lives, it will cost 10 times more' - Driver who killed 2yr old YueYue in China.

and Yue Yue, the 2 year old girl, has officially been declared brain dead.

Its a kid for goodness sake. I could not bear to watch after he hit her that very first time, and how my heart fell crashing when I saw the old aunty tried to carry her but she collasped like a broken doll.

I hope you are in a better place YueYue!!! Karma will hit all these people in the heart and I bet every human being with a heart all around the world totally feels for you.

Just something like this in the news is enough to make you think that apathy is dead in today's world.

Its just so sad, so so very sad.

Westlife Gravity Tour 2011

Destination : Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

I was sold, the moment I heard and saw 'Swear It Again' played on MTV.

Still a girl in her light blue pinafore, vouching for Shane and Mark. My favourite two main lead vocalists in Westlife.

I could still remember the very first Westlife concert I went to, courtesy of sweetheart Faith. It was back in May 2001.

How both of us travelled by the Starline train to get to Astro to pickup the tickets were crazy. Got down/up on the wrong train when we were at Chan Sow Lin station but well, that sure did make the Westlife experience better!

Now, the boys came back minus one 10 years later and man, I still love them as much as I did back then!

Initially I wanted the Premier tickets but then again, I don't think I could make it to the pre-cocktail session and they are a little tad too expensive. Hubby offered to get me the Platinum tickets but when I went to buy them, premier and platinum were all SOLD OUT! Yea, you heard me.. all the expensive tickets have been swiped clean!

I was left with only three choices -Gold / Silver or Bronze. Of course I went for the Gold tickets. I remember the seating plans in Putra Indoor Stadium very well and Gold do provide good view of the stage so Gold it is for me!

Sadly, this time round, I attended the concert alone. Faith has moved her ass to New Zealand, my one and only Westlife kaki!

but well, I was not feeling sad for long. The moment I stepped into the arena, I nearly teared. To see the crowd who breathes Westlife was awesome. Music was played while everybody slowly made their way into the arena, video cams capturing the audience doing their 'thang' and roaring cheers and support from the audience whenever the camera focuses in on unsuspecting people grooving to the music.

I mean, can you believe it ? Even before Westlife appeared on the stage, one can already feel the warmth of the crowd. I am not sure if you understand what I am trying to say but it is somewhat like the saying, there is no place like home. Everybody feels so much closer, like we had something all in common = our love for Westlife. I felt the same when I attended Super Show II in 2010 in KL but something about being at concert in our neighboring country is just plain cold. I just could not connect, or feel the warmth like I felt from our fellow Malaysians.

Of course, the arena was not only filled with Malaysians but there were quite a few from other countries. I even spotted two old aunties wearing <3 Westlife shirts and they are from New Zealand! They look like they are in their 70s, yet they were fun and participated to the spycam moment. Then there were the Irish girls, with orange wigs and the Ireland flag. They were rather friendly and would take pictures with the other concert goers.

By about 9pm, the crowd got a bit restless and started chanting for Westlife. At 9.05pm, the lights went out and the curtain dropped, revealing the very reason why we were all gathered there at the Putra Indoor Stadium that day.

WESTLIFEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE !!!!!!!

and the very first song they sang ...

Now, that is one sure way to fire up the crowd... and the best thing, everybody knows the lyrics !

After the first song, Nicky announced that they usually play a game with the audience and they would randomly pick two people out from the audience onto the stage. I was like OMG! Really? Then he took out his phone and called out a guy's name.

*grr* what? a guy got chosen? and why did the girl go up too? When did Nicky call out her name?

Anyway Nicky asked where both of them are from and pass the microphone to the guy and asked him how does he feel tonight? and then the whole cliche thing happened ..

yea, some of you might have guessed it but well, it was sweet nonetheless. The trouble the guy went through to do all that to go down on one knee, and asked his girlfriend to marry him and be serenaded by the four Irish men? *sigh*

The girl took some time to say yes. I somehow doubt she actually wanted to say yes but it must be the pressure from the crowd and being just next to the Westlife members? and then they serenaded her! She got to hug each and every of those four Irish! *JEALOUS MAX*

The song?

Well, Gravity Tour did not feel like a concert at all. In fact, it felt more like we were invited to this one big party where everybody gets up and dance to the music and groove along with the boys on stage. It has a personal touch which is rather different from all the other concerts I have been to.. other than Pussycat Dolls (where we get to dance too at the Surf Beach -thanks to Ms Ho)

I loved every minute I was in there, the arena, hearing the boys belt out their hit songs from 1999 - 2010. albeit Mark did put on some weight but he still has a to-die-for vocals.

The boys did a medley of other songs such as Viva La Vida, Only Boy in The World, Time of My Life and Bad Romance. The whole crowd just went mad!!!!

However, the concert felt a little short, as if they only sang a few songs.. they did not sing Swear It Again but they sang three of my favourite songs -Flying Without Wings, Seasons in The Sun and You Raise Me Up!

Fell in love with one of their latest song too...

*sigh* The whole thing ended with they singing Uptown Girl as the encore ... and it was byebye Malaysia, we will see you again!!! Hopefully sooner and not another ten years down the road!!!!

Truth be told, there are quite a few boybands that I deeply truly know the lyrics to each and every of their songs; Backstreet Boys, Boyzone, Westlife, 911 and 98 Degrees. =) Maybe Blue but these 4 are my top favourites of all time!

Love much!

Sick Little Monster

I hardly offer rides to Hubby for work anymore. Its just that I find driving sometimes really stressful when it comes to going to KL and trying to come back from it.

KL / Midvalley / Up Hill Slope Jams are crazy for me. It gets me into my road rage mode ala stressed out max and then words that will stir the dead from their graves will come out from my mouth.

Yes, I can be quite foul-mouthed, usually happens only when I am driving. Guess driving does bring the worst out in me.

Anyway, the story is that after dropping Hubby off at Midvalley for his 2pm meeting, I used the Kerinchi Link way ro go home and as I was happily talking to Jaden and listening to the song played on Red.FM, suddenly I saw the light lit up on the dashboard.

Little Monster went dead in the middle of the road, well, our tyres were still practically rolling forward.. and then I tried to start the engine while in neutral gear. I think I have to turn the keys about two/three times (panic mode a bit) before it came to life and when I thought everything was ok, I saw the car temperature.

OM effing G !!

It is at H (the highest of the highest one can ever imagine!!!)

and then the engine dieded on me again, well.. I didn't want to risk anything unwanted (*touch wood -car meletup or whatsoever) so I quickly put on my double signal and steer my way to the left side of the road, making it barely to a corner, about 700m from the toll booth, where cars don't have to really come into my lane.

Little Monster first died here...

My heart pounded really fast. I panic. What now?? and my freaking phone credit was at its' lowest and I can't possibly take the risk to make some calls that will go unanswered or into voicemail. Yea, Hotlink is bitchy that way, even if its a 0.01second call, my credit still gets deducted like about RM0.49.

The first person that came to mind, was of course my Hubby who always solves my problem for me ... *ring ring ring* and then I put my phone down.

What can he possibly do? Take a cab out here and join me getting stranded? Or do I call someone that has a car and come and try to save Jaden and I?

So I chose the next best option, Hubby's friend who works at Midvalley area. Have to resort being the stingy caller and asked him to call me back urgently as soon as he picked up the phone.

Asked him if he is at Midvalley, and he replied, oh, Simon is right beside me.. but I told him I needed him to come save me at Kerinchi Link because my car died and the temperature shows H !!! eff-ing HHHHH !!!! Without hesitating, he said he will come now and off he went to buy water to come save us both mother and son.

Hubby did call me back after that, and went to buy reload for me. He could not come with his friend as he really had to attend that important meeting. Well, it was better for me that way in a way because I don't think I could take his scolding (well, he did mention to me to bring Little Monster for service some time last week but I brushed him off.. look at me now!) and stress over my beloved little monster.

So, both Jaden and I played the waiting game ... while I try to keep Jaden cool by fanning him with a paper-made fan. Luckily it just rained, so we had a little breeze coming in now and then and we were also shaded under the big concrete jalan above us.

Spring Highway Patrol fella came to assist

Just two minutes before Hubby's friend reached, the Sprint Highway patrol fella with his siren-lit motorcycle pulled up behind me and asked what happened and if he could help. He said, the most important thing right now is to try to maneuver the car more infront, nearer to toll because I am still quite in the red zone ( near th corner that some drivers might just be speeding and can't avoid my car in time). He asked how long have I waited in the car and I told him approximately 1/2 hr and he said, I could try starting my engine again, just to move in front a little and tried I did.

Little Monster did start for a while only to die down the next 10 seconds, but good enough to make it 200 metres in front, nearer to toll and more into the safety zone. *phew* Hubby's friend reached just in time when I pulled my handbrake.

Both men trying to figure out what is wrong with Little Monster

To cut the long story short, it was first really dried out of water... and then later, out of black oil which Hubby's friend had to go another round to buy black oil for me... and then Little Monster decided to just play dead! I can't even twist the key to make a sound!!!!

WTH???

Sprint Highway pickup truck came to jumpstart Little Monster

So the Sprint Highway Patrol fella had to call for backup and ask for a jumpstart wires.. 15-20 minutes later, came a pickup truck with an arrow lit up to ask cars to go right .. LOL

Jaden taking in all the aircon he can in Eddy's car

At this time, I have parked both Jaden and I in Hubby's friend's air-conditioned car. It was mostly for Jaden, the aircon. The men out there then tried to jumpstart the car and voila! It came to life after several tries, puffing out grey looking gas.

*sigh* well, as long as it moves.. I am ok with it.. and Hubby's friend offered to tail my car back to my house, just in case...

and what do you know?

as soon as I got into the car, pass the toll, and it shows me H again! What??!!!!

I called Hubby's friend to let him know the situation and boy, its crazy.. I managed to drive to The Star/Eastin Hotel toll there, ready to touch n go when it died on the spot right there and then!

YES! in the toll booth Little Monster decided to die, and the staff have to direct all other cars to other lanes while they pushed Little Monster to the front of the toll, parked her in between so they could open up the lane again and sat there I did, waiting again..

Called my mechanic up and told him of my situation. He then said most probably my water tank has leakage and its time to call the tow truck from my car insurance. Called daddy up, then called the nearest tow truck company and well, Little Monster was pushed to the side of the road again and well, waited again.

The second place Little Monster decided to die and well, guess it was time to tow it to the 'clinic'

Tow truck did reach quite fast, and just in time too, my Hubby and another friend of his reached me at the side of that toll.

By that time, it was about 445pm. Thankfully the jam has not started yet.

Moved a sleeping boy from one car to the latest arrived car and my hero for the day left for his appointment. We followed the tow truck back to the workshop and Hubby went down to discuss with the mechanics. Thankfully, Hubby was there to negotiate the pricing. IF not, confirm lah kena potong leher!

and so now, I am car-less till the mechanic calls .. and that also means about RM1.6k flying out from Hubby's pocket.

So, the moral of the story is ....

  • ALWAYS ALWAYS SEND THE CAR FOR SERVICE ( every 3 months )
  • ALWAYS ALWAYS INSURE YOUR CAR WITH SOME AWESOME CAR INSURANCE with a reliable insurance agent (i.e : my FATHER)

So yea, and that is how my wall post came about... little monster in the 'clinic' ... :(

p/s : and I thank God for my little cousin, I got to make it to Westlife concert that night ... thank God!

pp/ss: A BIG SHOUTOUT TO BOTH EDDYHAN AND JUSTIN FOR SAVING BOTH JADEN AND I , THANK YOU YOU BOTH!!!! THANK YOU EDDY!!!

Koreans vs Dinosaur

Hubby bought The Star for RM1.20 ...

... and because of The Star, he has to fork out about RM1k in the end.

He would have so wished he hadn't bought the paper or at least buy it but did not bring it home because when I opened it to page 3, there it was staring at me in the face and it was a SURE MUST ATTEND thingy. Thus, the story of RM1k flying out from Hubby's pocket.

When I made the decision that we must and have to go for this RM1k event, my heart sank a little as I know I have to betray the Koreans instead. Nothing will ever stop me from making my son happy even if it means a big super clash with something I really like... unless its like holding hands with Prince William, then that is another story. *gRin*

So what is this that I am talking about and costs Hubby RM1k?

Does this ring a bell to you then?

Something that is sang at the ending of every video?

I love you

You love me

We are a happy family

With a great big hug

and a kiss from me to you

Won't you say

you love me too

Got it ? No? Yes?

Hubby and I must both be crazy as this is the purple dinosaur we are talking about.

Yes, we are both going to fork out RM1k so that Jaden can get to watch Barney and friends live in person. Something I know will really make Jaden happy.

I called the event company up and made ticket payment transactions almost immediately, securing the most favourable and comfortable seats available. I learn from experience, never to wait till the last minute as good seats do get snapped up fast by parents out there, even if it means exorbitantly priced.

Since Jaden can really relate to both Sesame Street and Barney, I think this event is going to be really worth it. Unlike Ben10 and Disney, he still don't really give two hoots about them, that is why you don't see me running around trying to buy Disney on Ice tickets for him just yet.

BUT this! This I must do it and DID IT I did! I am going to head down to the event company end of this week and pick up the tickets for the whole of SimonYap clan.

so.. how did the Koreans come into the picture then right, you'd ask?

Well, so happened that 2PM will be in town too on that weekday night, thus the tiny disappointment in me because I know that concert is going to be really awesome! It is their first Asia tour and being a Malaysian going to concerts in our homeland beats going to concerts elsewhere. I know because I did not really enjoy myself at the Singapore concert for Super Junior Super Show III. I enjoyed Super Show II in Bukit Jalil instead with a much more behaved crowd.

Well, but tickets to 2PM ain't cheap either. It is even more expensive than Super Show. RM600++ for rockzone? and RM500++ for VVIP seating? *Sigh* maybe another time then.

I will just settle for fan accounts of the concert then and watched youtube updates for the concert.

For now, I shall just put my Hands Up and surrender to Barney who wins hands down anytime over the decision-making of which shall I attend ... =)

All for the love of my Jaden.
