Bringing the bride home

Date :: 18 September 2010
Day :: Saturday ::

Time :: 6am - 6pm ::

Destination :: Ipoh ::

Reason :: Bride hand-over

Joy reached my house sharp at 6am and before our journey began, we stopped over at the Restoran Jejantas to buy her breakfast. She needs food to fuel her mind and body except that the breakfast was damn sucky, according to her!

Jaden only decided he wanted to sleep half hour before we reached Ipoh and he slept straight off for 3 whole hours. By the time he woke up, Joy and I were already in the bride's room teasing the bride about her skinny frame.

We reached Ipoh at about 815am and Cheah lead the way to SharonSer's place. It was still quite early and when the bride appeared out to reverse her car out for us so we could park in the porch and let Jaden sleep while we stretch our backs and take in the fresh cool air. Behind the house was the oil palm plantation and the pleasant morning breeze were rather welcoming.

Sharon's mother prepared the bottom room for me while I moved Jaden from the car into the room to let him continue his beauty sleep. Joy and I then proceeded to help with the ingredients that will be use for the games later on. Oh boy! I feel the 'heat' for them boys!!!

Since I was the only one married in the house, other than Sharon's mother, I was told to say some good things as they veil her. Not a very smart idea when it comes to saying good things in Cantonese from me.. even the good may sound obscene. But saying these good things can be really rewarding -YAY! Angpow!

We, the bridesmaids, took a few photos with the bride before the troop of 'brothers' arrive and then, that was when things really got 'hot' and funny!

Every single thing we do, we ask for angpow! Blood-suckers I tell you.. We played the doughnut and banana game where the brothers have to lick and eat from the groom's private areas. *eew* and then the chilli padi-fied orange chiffon cake, wasabi orange chiffon cake and salted orange chiffon cake. Then we have the boys eat from the diaper a very disgusting looking diarrhea look-a-like dalcha tomato and onions. Last thing to eat was the ultimate and that was the BOMB I tell you, fully chilli-powdered, wasabi-ed and chilli tuna to mask the evil beneath.

Before we let the groom in to claim his bride, whom he had suffered so much for, he had to write a contract promising SharonSer a number of stuff and to read it aloud for the bride to hear and approve. It was really sweet when he finally unveil the bride and give her a kiss.

Sharon's mother burst into tears when her daughter poured her tea. I can understand now why she cried. I would too if it was my daughter who is marrying. They grow up so fast.. if only they could remain a baby forever where we could pamper and coo at them. *sigh*

Quinn, Sharon's another friend joined us on our trip back to KL. Next week's destination, KLUANG.
