Partied like its 1999

Saturday 21 May is a date I will not be forgetting for a very long time as it was the day, most of my dearest college mates gathered together to witness the beautiful union of my ex-housemate Kelvin to Alva.

Linaree and I met up early in the morning for breakfast and got our hair done at Hartamas. After sending her back to Banyan, where she was putting up for the nights she was down in KL, I hurried home, changed into my dress and slab on some ICI on my face. Joy was already waiting for me downstairs and SueKingKong was around the corner ready to pick both of us girls up to the wedding luncheon.

Everybody was there by the time we three girls reached. Doing what we do best, noisy as ever and well, with wine in our hands, the rest was history.

Clements must be thinking Linaree got a bunch of crazies, with me and my flying food around the plate, instead of having the waiter to pour us wine each time our glasses empties, we demanded for the bottle to be put permanent at our table.

My girlfriends being bitchy to the poor waiter who attempted to take away their bowls of sharkfin soup, oh boy, it was laughter all the way at our table and SueKingKong stuffing Clements with prawns.

Our table, table 5, yamseng-ed the loudest, and longest and the best thing was, it was a table filled majority with girls and only two men. That is how loud we were, and how crazy we all are, with the wine in our bloodstream. We enjoyed ourselves tremendously, of course, with the historican, SueKingKong, snapping away every picture she could get.

Finally taking a group picture with VeeMei and RachelLian whom we have not seen in donkey years, and well, what can I say, completed that afternoon of madness.

Kelvin’s wedding was a bomb and that was made possible because of the sotong gilas at table 5.

Congratulations to you Kelvin and your wifey, Alva, and of course thanks for enabling us , the sotonggilas, to come together on your day.

So what happens next after the wedding luncheon? Everybody goes home... end of story?

NO... that would have been really sad for all of us who hardly gets the opportunity to meet up like that, wouldn’t it?

OF COURSE we had plans for the night, dinner together and then drinks after.. which the drinks led on to all of us reaching our respective homes at 530am in the morning and waking up feeling like some old croaks the next day.

Hubby was nice enough to help babysit Jaden for me the whole day without complaining and rushing me home. Thank you!

But well, I did come home after the wedding luncheon to bathe Jaden and cook him his dinner and supper before I left again with my friends.

Took Linaree. Clements and Lu to go have dinner while Zairynn went on to have her dinner with Tanya and Joy at Bangsar. We were separated into two cars / two groups but all managed to reached Borneo Baruk Club almost the same time and that was when the real party began.

We opened Absolut Vodka, had shots and just partied on crazy. Crazy till Clements finally loosened up and got up and started dancing.

Moved on to Asian Heritage Row after Borneo closed and mamak later to let everybody sober up more and feed their hunger.

:: this is me begging to go home after a loooong night out ::

Boy, came home at 5am.. and thankfully it was SueKingKong that drove as she is not a drinker =designated driver. I can imagine my fun cut into quarter if I were the designated driver.. but well, lets just say Saturday was fabulous mad and I missed all these crazy college moments.

(L) to (R) :: Joy, Z, SueKingKong, Tanya, M & Linaree

It was really like college days relived but well, everybody paid their dues the next day. The aftermath of self-destruction by going all out the whole day with alcoholic drinks in our system.

We all raised our white flags and said, we are too old for this shit but well, if we have a chance to do it again, I am sure we will jump into it without any hesitation. =)

Bestie in Town

Gwen is back again in my part of the town yesterday. She made a one day stopover in KL to see her new baby nephew and stayed over at my place.

It feels like I have not seen her forever, when I have just saw her in January for her wedding.

YuMay and I went to the airport to pick both Gwen and YC, who had just returned from Penang and off we went to Julian's house to visit the baby.

Baby Daryl was gorgeous. Sweet-nature and well, I just love babies so it does not really matter to me if they are crying or pooing, they are equally as cute. Couldn't hold back in wanting to hold the baby in my arms. I missed the days when they weigh less than 10kgs anyway ... Jaden just grew up so fast in an instant it seems and now I missed those baby days but I am sure I will be seeing more rabbit babies this year, thanks to cousins and friends who are going to be mothers soon.

Dylan was also very cute. He was supposed to be sick but he didn't look or act it. In fact, he recruited Gwen as a new member in his boys-only clubhouse. It was so cute looking at him pulling Gwen and parking her inside his clubhouse while he goes about doing his own thing in the small little house. He was just satisfied having Gwen inside the house with him. So darn cute! and with his woahhhhhhhh expression. Priceless!

Then off YuMay and I went to pick Davie up for dinner while Gwen went in Julian's car to the restaurant first. Surprisingly, the jam at 6-730pm was pretty ok. No hair-pulling moment.

and well, of course, us pigging out at the crabs for dinner. Mmm.. I pretty much was very happy keeping quiet during dinner while conversations were taking place, as I was busy stuffing the yummy dinner down me tummy. *burp* Satisfying and it did not just end there. Julian took us to SS2 Mall to buy Chatime tea.. I had freshmilk grass jelly and it freaking AWESOME! Think that will be one of my favourite place to go buy a drink from now onwards until I discover a better place. Snowflakes is just so-so to me and now that I have discovered Chatime, FABULOUS!

Julian sent three of us back to my place, and boy, we were all tired out by then. The married couple spent some time with Jaden -Gwen teaching Jaden how to play Smurfs on her iPad and well, YC trying to tell Jaden that Arsenal is the best football club in the whole wide world when SimonYap was out playing Dota.

We all turned in for bed nearing 2am and woke up at 8am the next. Our breakfast plan failed kao kao as OldTown was still not opened yet when we went down at 830am. So we walked opposite and had a drink each thats all.. and soon after, YuMay reached at 930am to picked them up to the airport. The sweet girl, YuMay, even bought a drink for me that really made my day.

I missed all them even before they left my apartment grounds. *sigh*

I have a feeling I will not be seeing Gwen for quite some time after she goes back to Melbourne as there are many stuff taking place for them there this year... :(

Drama-rama

The weather has been really hot like mad for the past one/two weeks and everyone on twittersphere/facebook was complaining about the heat.

Then, just one day, a really bad smell came hovering by just right at my apartment area. One could smell when the balcony door was opened, or when you stepped right out from the lift.

It smelt as if a perpetual garbage truck was parked right outside the door.

After three days of enduring that odor, Hubby went down to the management office to file his complaint. Asking the management to do a search for the source of that smell.

Many things ran through our mind whenever we caught a sniff of that smell. Both of us suspected that something might be dead but well, of course a dead body did cross our mind but well, how likely could it be like CSI case right?

The next day, Friday 13th, the management sent two people to go source for the smell and they were going from door to door around my floor as they said the smell was pungent most at my floor area.

The next thing I know was that when I was doing my dishes, I heard police siren. Then peeping out of my kitchen window, I saw lots of policemen on the floor below mine.

Told Hubby about it and boy, it sent the shivers down my spine. Our suspicions were confirmed.

There was really a dead body below. The poor deceased man has been dead for days, and with the heat, of course it hasten up the decaying process.

Management fellow managed to find out after following a trail of flies leading to that house.

Poor man was living alone when he had medical issues that left him dead in his own house without anyone knowing.

The drama that unfolded during this Friday 13th really gives me the chill when I think of it yet part of me feels sad for how the man's life ended.

Supposedly his family, landlord has been contacted and proper burial has been given.

God bless his soul. May he now rest in peace.

Sickies

I think I have caught on the sickies.

from Jaden.

Its been quite some time since I last fell sick or feel sick.

I hate being sick like that. I feel weak and I hate feeling weak this way.

It always starts off with a bad throat that I just feel like ripping out of me.

Strepsils do help, soothing it but I guess I have to do without it tonight.

First thing in the morning, tomorrow, to 7-11 I go to get a few packets to put at home. Strepsils always help!

Of course, how to cure a sore throat without drinking water right? I think I might have just down gallons of water down my throat.

I would be surprised if my pee colour ain't clear after all those H20 I drank.

Well, I rather its me being sick like that than Jaden anytime. At least I can tell the whole wide world where it hurts, can't speak the same for Jaden thats why I am glad I am the one who fell sick instead.

Jaden's fever has subsided by this morning but I am not taking any chances. With the suspecting flu bug going around the SimonYap clan house, he, too I am making drink gallons of water just to keep the flu bugs away.

sick. sick. sick. uurrgghhh!

April Fever

Jaden was having the runny nose and cough previous night. I didn't think much of it but was sure that he might have just caught the flu bug.

However, during his ABA therapy class, his therapist told me that his body seems a little warm and boy, that was like a warning sign to me.

I then, knew he has caught on fever and tried making him drink as much water as he can, and putting on long sleeves and pants for him the whole day.

He had it full fledge going at about 38.1 at night where I had him a quick warm bath, dried him, dressed in his long peejays and put him to bed. Poor thing did not even have much of an appetite. He only had two meals yesterday.

I did not really sleep as I was busy monitoring him every now and then to see if his temperature went up or down. When he fell asleep, I quickly put the koolfever aid on his forehead, hoping it will help a bit. The koolfever aid was gone in the morning! VANISHED! I really wonder if he ate it up! Just kidding!

The boy was also sleeping on and off the whole night through. He woke up at about 7am and was staring at the turing fan, that I quickly shut it off and on the aircon at 26 celcius instead. I didn't want him to space out like that. It would mean bad news to me if he starts staring at things going round again.

His fever subsided by the time he woke up. He slept till about 130pm today. Hope all the sleep helps. His appetite however, is about back to normal, still needs to chase after him to get him to sit down and eat his food. This time round, I gave him half his usual servings because I am scared he might just puke the food out. Not wanting to push my luck, anyway hes eating bit by bit. Better than none anyway.

The cough and phlegm is still there, hand in hand with the runny nose but the fever has gone down. Hopefully it will all go away soon. Now, I am letting him sweat it all out while trying to avoid the drugs at all cost unless it becomes bad. I have the suppository at hand, just in case of emergency but I doubt I have to use it if I just keep making him drink lots of water.

It is really a mother's nightmare to see her son sick like that. Luckily he was not cranky throughout the night ... *phew* touch wood! I hope I didn speak too soon.

As for the boy, I think hes glad he got to skip his remaining class for this week. If only he knows, next week onwards, the hours are increasing for him. oopsie! =)

Its a beautiful night, and we are looking for something dumb to do ...

*song playing in the background -Bruno Mars Marry You*

This song is so cheerful, so carefree -it sure takes me back to the carefree days of when we were young and free.

Makes me want to get up and dance and forget the troubles of the day.

There are lots going through this puny mind of mine.

Just another process of growing up, a chapter I must have skipped while studying life lessons.

Its so hard not to think about it when there is nothing much you can do about it. It was over before it even began and the what ifs all sank in.

Why do humans like to ask questions that does not have definite questions?

What purpose do they serve?

I used to asked why? what went wrong and when? It hit me like a train coming at ya' full steam ahead.

I wonder if my young nieces and nephews ask the same questions like I do.

Looking at their pictures on FB puts a smile on my face, reminding me of my old self back in those days. So happily in love, yet there are complications which we think no one else would understand, especially our parents when we are feeling at our lowest but boy, they are wrong!

Now I truly believe that the elders know best because they would probably have been through what we are going through. Its only up to them if they choose to interfere, advise or just stand aside and watch how we steer through life on our own.

Do you remember your first crush? first love? your first kiss? your first time? your first argument? (i bet that is really hard to remember)

My memory is starting to fail me about my previous relationships. Maybe its because I do not want to remember them. Happy times, sad times -they are all in my past, a past that I want to bury.

I think the firsts time you share with your loved ones are usually the best memorable ones. They never fail to bring a smile to my face because then, it was truly the best moment without the battlescars of an argument, misunderstanding and many more unwarranted stuff.

Arguments can either kill or make the relationship stronger. Usually it kills. Once it starts, it keeps coming. It never ends and one day, both will feel so tired, they usually let go and drift apart, no? Apologies could help but to a certain extend if there are still no positive changes.

If I knew love was going to come at me no matter what age I am in, I would have waited for a little while longer when I was younger. Putting your career future in front of you is always more important than finding the other guy, because if you were meant to be matched up to the other person, it will come. Just a matter of time...

There is no room for me now, to look back at the past and ponder. There is only one way for me to look at and its the future. So, will I be able to make the right decisions and not regret like I do now, 10 years down the road? Should I fight for what I have always wanted to do and be a mother at the same time? I think I want to and I shall do it. I know I have to in order to feel at least a tiny sense of accomplishment in life of whatever thats left in me.

Wish me luck and when I do begin, you shall be the first to know. =)
