Marrying young

Most people tend to ask me this one question. Do you regret marrying young?

Well, what would you answer to that? I know some people ask me that when I tell them never to rush into marriage. Well, it is true. Why rush into one when you are not going to keep it going on later? I have seen many cases of friends and family ending up that lonely road once again.. so when it comes to marriage, it needs both to make it work... patience pays...

I don't regret marrying young because I married a man who is very responsible, hardworking and is a very loving father to his son.

Its like a confirm catch that when you get on with a person, and you trust that person completely, regardless of which company he hangs out with.

I have some experiences when it comes to finding Mr Right and with my hubby, you just know that he is the right one for you feel secure and the most important of all -trust. It is there... well, I am not sure when it comes to him and the ciggies but yea, other than that, I trust that he is doing nothing that will break my heart behind my back.


Marrying young is one thing. Being a young mother is another thing. I think its the being a young mother that sometimes made me envy my single friends out there who is having a ball out there but well, I, too is having a ball of a lifetime.

Having Jaden is the best thing that has ever happened to me. I say it with all my sincerity. It is even better than being married. Watching him grew from inside my belly, and then out into this world and now, a 2 year old who smiles back at me whenever he sees me. Kisses me, loving me unconditionally.. I am glad Hubby and I made the decision to have this child, not to say we had other ideas.. Jaden was meant for keeps.

It may seem I am losing out on what my friends in their 20s are having, but I am very happy just to be home with Jaden. Although once a blue moon, maybe twice or three times in a year, I would very much like some timeout with just my friends and I. A few hours is all I asked for and I can tell you the beauty of having a child in your life.

One cousin of mine, once told me when she was hugging me at my wedding, told me that I must be 幸福 in this marriage... and I totally agree with her. That is the only way a marriage can last and well, with Jaden as family, I feel that I am the most 幸福 girl on earth.

So my answer will be, I do not regret marrying young and I do not regret being a young mother. Especially the part of being a young mother. Jaden is the best gift ever from above and I treasure each day I spend with him... and as for Hubby, I thank him for giving me this beautiful child. =)



p/s: you know when I was just a little girl, the ideal age of picturing myself getting married was at the age of 23.. guess what? it came true. =)

Three O plus One

As usual, hes always busy with work. Yes, my husband is a workaholic. As much as I hate to say that sometimes he is so immersed with work that Jaden and I are left to ourselves but I wouldn't ask him to stop being a workaholic because I am proud of his determination to provide the best for the family.

So yesterday, he turns 31 and we only had cake and Jaden's god-pa came over to sing him the customary Happy Birthday song and cake cutting ceremony.




I ordered from FatBoyBakes again for Hubby's birthday cake. This time, its the boozy spencer where one can really taste the rum in it.. MMmmm...




and before the SimonYap clan turned in for bed, Hubby found his present hidden behind his pillow. Just a small gift from both Jaden and I, knowing that the present will be put into good use... =)

I am glad he likes the gift we gave him.. and then, that was it.. the end of his birthday celebration. I guess the birthday dinner will just have to come sometime after the crazy schedule slows a bit down.. at least for a week, thats all I am asking.. =)

1 Malaysia plus One

2007, we were the same gang that gathered for drinks and catching ups and more drinks.

3 years down the road, we gathered together again, this time with more catching up and even more drinks.

Luju was in town and I sort of have everybody to meet up on 15th Jan because that was the day I get to go out after Hubby's event. So while Hubby helped babysit Jaden, I left the house at about 830pm to meet up with the gang at TTDI Plaza.




Can you believe it that it was my first time at TTDI Plaza? After all the shitnitz going on and this is my first time there, despite staying so near? I feel so sakai!

Anyway, back to Luju...




Kelvin was there the earliest, and he ordered a jug of beer and Black Label. I reached half hour later and started drinking with him. Luju and the girls came like an hour later than 830pm. Gggrrr..




The late monkeys ate and soon after, it was drinks after drinks, smoke after smoke and laughter after laughter. It sure was havoc at our table, and we were as if playing musical chairs getting to one another, just catching up and making fun or whats going on in life or what had happened.

We have the waiter trying to hit on Zizi. We have Luju trying to avoid alcohol in his photos. haram tao? and we have Tanya who believes she is Chinese. Such is life with them around.. We have Kelvin asking if he could join Joy in the toilet.. such is life.. such is life!



Its all in the good name of a good night out with friends. I sure did enjoyed myself. I love this crew of mine.. just missing out on Linaree and we should be about complete.

I wonder when is the next time we gather round again like that? Kel's wedding?

First Friend over for 2010

I had a special guest stayed over on Monday. She is none other than my bestfriend Gwen, well, who makes her annual pilgrimage back but well, it is ALWAYS GOOD to have her around.

Hubby might not think the same way as she can be quite a lot of influence when it comes to girly essentials, which of course I likeeeeee!

Picked her up from One U after she spent almost one whole day with YuMay. Came home to let Jaden nap while we get ready to go dinner with her friend, whom I had met once before on 2005 New Year's Eve. Surprisingly, he remembered me as well. I didn't at first and then, suddenly it just hit me that OH I HAVE SEEN YOU BEFORE... well, he did leave a good impression of being a Mr. Nice the last time so well, we had a good dinner, just talking over Korean food. Gwen and I share the same love for the KimChi soup.

The Three of Us

Jaden went with Gwen and I for dinner while Hubby was left all alone at home. In fact, the two days Gwen was here, it was more to just us girls and Jaden.

After dinner, Dennis (yes, that is his name..still a very much single eligible bachelor) drop us home and I already had another drinks plan with another mutual friend of ours.

Gwen and I went out again, this time to Laundry Bar to meet up with CVK for drinks. A glass of drink is more like it because it was getting late and all of us were tired. The guy came all the way from the heart of the city here only to be met by Gwen's first comment. "You grew fatter!" Yeap! That is Gwen for you people!

We came home just a bit past 12 and Gwen quickly washed up and soon, she fell asleep dead to the world. The girl only woke up at about 1130am the next day.

I took her to Ikano for lunch because she was craving for nasi lemak with fried chicken and both of us wanted somewhere with air-con. It was a freaking hot afternoon afterall. Then we walk around a bit, and she managed to buy two working clothes and I gained a Padini member's card, thanks to her. =)

We left Ikano/The Curve at about 430 to go home to let Jaden nap. Thankfully Hubby just came back from a meeting and we left him to babysit the napping Jaden while we went for our second round of shopping at One U before I send her straight to the airport.

It was quite a fun shopping trip because I realized both of us do have similar taste in clothes and well, its always nice to agree on the same things together. We had the QJelly before walking around and in the end, we ended up at Blook where she bought her last buy for the day before we hurried out to Centrepoint McD's drivethru to buy our dinner.

Reached the airport one hour before her take-off time. She had her luggage checked in and we sat at the couches there eating our dinner. I was having a lil headache that I thought was growing quite bad so I asked her if I would die from popping panadol with the coke we have in our hands. She says she does it all the time and I .. *WHATTTT????* anyways I took my stand and refused to follow what she USED TO DO ALL THE TIME. So I bought a bottle of water from the nearby newstand and pop my panadol with plain water. There are just times one MUST NOT TRUST GWEN COMPLETELY. She can be doing the most idiotic thing for all we know despite her profession.

About half hour to her departure time, I took off home, hoping my headache would wear off by the time I reach home to take care of Jaden.. it didn't. It only went away after like 2 hours of eating Panadol which had me contemplating to want to take another 2 more. *sigh* The pain-killers are starting to lose their effect on me.

It had been a good two days spent with Gwen and only Gwen alone. Gawd! I really love this little friend of mine to bits! Bestfriends like Schee and Gwen are hard to come by...

2010 Resolutions

in hopes that I will be able to keep them...

• not procrastinate in housekeeping
• to pack all stuff in boxes and throw/give away things that I do not need to avoid being a hoarder
• to learn how to bake
• to learn how to be a better cook and try out more recipes
• to exercise more on my own
• to be patient
• to eat healthy (hard to follow this one tho)
• to be a good mother and wife in the SimonYap clan
• to stop spending money unneccessarily (e-shopping is evil)

Welcoming 2010 <3

H A P P Y N E W Y E A R!

People were everywhere. Traffic policemen were everywhere too. This year, we celebrated it the same as ushering in 2009, from our apartment parking lot where fireworks from The Curve, One Utama can be seen. This year, 2010, had extra fireworks displays from Tropicana City Mall and as far as the eye can see into Kepong. There were just too many firework displays to be just concentrating on one but well, One Utama won hands down for the finale, in my opinion.




The SimonYap clan went down at about 1150pm, and we started waiting, while Jaden was amused with other children playing nearby.




Hubby, then was smoking his last cigarette of 2009, and hopefully, the last of the last of puffs would that be. 2010 would be the year he quits smoking for good, which I really hope he does for both my son and his health benefits.

IzGrace came in time to see the first firework display fired up by The Curve. Oohs and Aahs and Oohs can be heard each time the fireworks lit up the dark skies.




Jaden was pretty much intrigued by the fireworks that he pushed Hubby and I away each time we went near him to tell him that it is fireworks that he is watching. I can tell he pretty much likes it!




Everything ended with a beautiful continuous shots of fireworks from One Utama and well, after some 10 minutes of so, it was back to reality that 2010 is here.

No jostling among the crowds, no getting stuck in traffic jams and spending money on booze.. this is my kind of new year ushering. A big open space with lots of fireworks displays from left to right...
