Frustrations ...

.. and I, alone, would only know about it... no one else..

when the boy is extremely naughty or doing dangerous stunts ..

The boy has developed a few new BAD HABITS this time round.

We thought he was over the phase of climbing up the TV cabinet but NOOOOO.. he climbs up to the DVD player and Astro decoder and decides that pressing the buttons are real fun. I know, its a kid's thing but still, the electrical wires are there and there are limited stand space for him to stand properly. Should he panic, he would have lost footing and fall head down first. It happened once before but luckily, the boy was able to cushioned his fall slowly by using his hands but how many times can he get lucky?

I always take the cane and whack him each time I see him do that. Of course its not instant caning. I would give him warning. I would ask him to come down first. Nicely. Second time, I would say I will whack already and will start counting 1, 2 and 3. By the count of 2 and he is still not down, the first soft whack will land on his legs. Third time round when he challenges me and climb up there again, I whack without counting. Sometimes one hard whack, sometimes two just to get my message across.

Jaden totally understands when I say "Come Down or Leg first!" but he always does it when I turn my back, even for a second to do the dishes. Should I just keep caning him till he gets it that HE SHOULDN"T CLIMB UP THERE? but the father will only accuse me of abusing his precious son. *sigh* dilemma dilemma!

The second irritating thing is that he always, at any chance he gets, will put his hands into his diaper and play with his penis. I find it so unhygenic. Who knows if he had peed? Playing with it really irks me out and I always tell him NO NO... cannot play like that.. but he will still stick his hands in and give me a cheeky smile. The father might find it amusing but I really find it a nasty dirty habit. So instead of caning, I whack his hands with my hands instead. He learns not to do it for a while but when I turn my back, he is back at one again. How lah to deal with him?

The only option I am left with now is to let him wear pants long enough with no chance of hole opening for his hands to reach his penis. The weather is so hot these days, I thought it would be just nice for him to be in shirt and diapers but since he is misbehaving, he can go sweat in his balls now! (pun intended)

The third dangerous stunt he does now is to climb onto the sofa to reach up to the upper part of the divider. It is so dangerous because he might just fall down from the sofa, and if the sofa doesn't cushion his fall, he will just fall straight down on to the cold hard floor. Worse still, hit the sharp edges of the divider anc cut something *touch wood* but yea, that is the third dangerous stunts he is up to at the moment. The RM2 I paid for the cane is really worth the money paid in situations like these.

The fourth thing that really piss the shit out of me is that now whenever he drinks water from his sippy cup, he will store them up in his mouth and when he thinks no one is paying attention to what he is doing, he will spit the water out either on the floor or the TV cabinet. TV cabinet is the one that will make me whack him hard because firstly, the TV is there, he might get electrocuted. Second, the TV is so damn expensive and is one of my two entertainment source (the other -computer) and if he really spoils it, I would have been so angry but in the end, I will be the one getting all the blasting so why me when I can whack him first?

If its the floor he spits water on, he will lie onto the water to cover his bad deeds, but well, mothers know best when their children is up to no good and this is one of them. I will grab him up and whack him too because he might just decide to get up and walk and then slip and hit his head hard on to the floor. Or the father might slipped too on the floor *touch wood* but the father must not slipped at all! and best still, the boy's shirt gets so wet that might just make him catch cold and its off to the doctor. I hate it when the boy gets sick because that is one thing I blame myself for. Its one thing that I can prevent and there he goes getting himself sick because he watns to play with water.

I should have just throw him into the swimming pool if he wants to play with water so much but the boy turns out to not be such a hero when he is there. In fact, he is scared of the swimming pool or any tub of water I want to put him in to bathe. My boy now bathes standing up... easier for me to carry him out from the bathroom instead when he is lying in his baby bathtub. Backs can break carrying him I tell you!..

So tell me, won't you be as frustrated as I am when you are caught in these situations and sometimes have to control your anger just because his bodyguard is staring dead at you when you lift your hands up to whack him? One cry is enough to make the father ask me to stop whacking him. Its not as if I whack crazy.. its just enough for me to get the message across to him to not do these things I don't want him to.

I really hate to threaten Jaden with the cane. I really hate to shout at the little boy. I think kids should enjoy their childhood, have a happy one where smiles are plastered over mummy's , daddy's and baby's face but with Jaden doing all these dangerous stunts, HOWWWWWWW lah not to cane him?

Funny thing is that whenever Jaden cries, or he falls down and have a boo boo, I tend to leave him alone to cry himself satisfied and let him be ok on his own. Unless its a big fall that I know hurts a lot, then only I will go and check out the pain and see if he needs medical attention but usually, I will just leave him to cry himself out.. so one thing good about Jaden is that he only cries for a few seconds, 1 minute the most and then he forgets about it and goes about his other naughty stunts...

The difference is that he behaves better when its just me and him at home or anywhere out there. When the father is around, all hell breaks loose. Its true! *sigh*

Sometimes after all the whacking, scolding, I look at Jaden and he smiles back at me, kisses me and mommy is forgiven, I feel like a twat! All I want to tell him is that despite all these beatings and scoldings, I love him very very much!

i am such a twat twat twat!

Hwangjini

Lately, I have been busy watching this another Korean drama. Maybe it was the life of those olden days that appealed to me, or maybe it was just all the drama going on but damn, the episodes can be really touching and make tears flow easily.

This drama I am talking about was a 2006 TV series aired in Korea. They have been airing it on KBS world every Mon-Thurs night at 1010pm.

Its called Hwangjini.

A story about a gisaeng, a talented woman in the area of performing arts but have a tragic fate in her love life. Now that is already drama right?

Its lovely how KBS world is so thoughtful to provide english subtitles to all the dramas they are airing. I like!

At first, when I saw the ads for the drama and I didn't think much of it. Then one night, I sat down and watched the last 30 minutes of it and I was hooked till the end. In fact I am so hooked to it, I am now youtubing it for the last three episodes. It is just the Internet that is stopping me from enjoying my show because of its slow download speed. So potong stim!

and the hotties in the show.. Kim Jae Won

and Jang Geun Suk..

hehehe.. well, they are not as hot as Kim Hyun Joong or Lee Min Ho but ok-lahhhhh.. LOL still, young boys they all are.. except for Kim Jae Won who is 29 this year .. =)

Will be feeling sad once this show ends.. looking forward to another drama to take me in again!!!

p/s: I am still faithfully watching Jolly Widows too.. am at episode 120 something.. and I have a feeling its coming to an end soon too since the father had got his memory back! *sigh*

Venting frustation..

I have kept it inside me for almost a year.. I need to vent it out and forget about it.. damnit!

Last year, we had a big project and one of them, we needed to sub out the work. I have got this guy who says that he will do it.. so I sent him one work at a time.. just for translation.. yes, it will only take the most maz 2 hours to translate the whole thing.. anyway I gave him two days to complete it.. Lets call him L.

So the conversations went something like that..

on the first day:-

"Well, its rather long bout 2k-3k words but only needs simple Malay. I myself can finish it in 3 hrs without distractions and I thought of you that you might want to earn some bucks. The faster you finish one, I will hand you another one and you can earn more...."

"If you are interested, I will send you one now.." this conversation took place at 1am in the morning...

Trust me, the pay we are paying for these translations are quite high.. not the journalists translating press releases type of money but well, it is still high...

So at about 5pm later during the day, I smsed L and asked him if he was half way done...

He replied me back saying yea, half way doing it...

at 11pm, I smsed him again how was it coming along...

I was expecting maybe err.. "I am finished?"

but nope.. no reply from him then.. FINE..

I smsed him again the next day, at about 4pm.. and said "Hey, you have got to update me on the process. How is it?"

No reply.. I called his phone.. He didn't pick up his phone.. FINE.. I left voice messages because I was getting kan chiong.. I mean if he didn't do it or not interested in it, at least let me know so I can quickly pass it on to someone who wants more work from me...

I smsed him the third day, the day he is supposed to hand the work back to me ALL DONE.. and this is what I said, "Hey L, my dateline is tomorrow night and I have to hand it over the next day 9am sharp. I need to look through, edit if theres need to.. so I really really need you to update me on your side.. please do let me know. Thanks"

NO REPLY.. NOT PICKING UP MY CALLS EITHER....

I tell you, I have never really felt so TL in my life.. so I decided to call J, whom I know L is spending the night over at and demanded to speak to L there. I actually thought I would give L face and call him on his phone first.. but still not picking my calls or replying me back...

So when I finally called J and demanded to speak to L, he has the nerve to be whispering back there telling J to tell me he is not there. Of course I heard it .. so well, J has to be the middle person there to convey all my words to him and finally I spilled it all out to J to tell it to him word by word while I am on the phone, that if L did not even start on the work, why not tell me and not delay my three days, where I could have gotten other people who wants more to do.. than to let me have it back last minute. I told him off for it and said that he should be a man to own up that he did not do the work. I wouldnt be that pissed if he informed me earlier than to hide like a coward.

That really pissed me off bad.. but well, its a year already and work was finished and handed up on time.. so yea, I learnt my lesson.. and now that I have vented it out, its all behind me.. =) *cheers* book closed!

I wished L nothing but the best in his future undertakings. =)

Happy New Year..

Upside Down Inside Out Schedule

It has been a mad month for me in Jan. Everything is just not happening as usual, and by my usual I mean, my cooking at home.

Hubby is downright busy with work and that means alot of meetings till late in the evening and by the time he is home, all he wants to do is just sit in front of his comp and finish up whatever work left to do and then, its off to zzz=land for him and then early next morning, the whole cycle starts again.

yah! he looks something like that now minus the hair on the head and tie around his neck...

Don't get me wrong. I am totally all thumbs up that Hubby is not home mostly because that means I get to do my own things at my pace, and without Hubby to occasionally either shout for me to take Jaden away from the computer table or hearing him complain of the hot weather. Yim yim ngam ngam.. LOL

I just don't like the idea of cooking for myself to eat at home. Its kind of sad yet I am so lazy to even want to step out of the house. Most of the time, I am satisfied with packet noodles, my soba noodles or bread with curry chicken or well, food delivery from Old Town or Dominos but all this aint healthy. At least Jaden gets to eat his home-cooked porridge.

Just like last night, since mother in law was down in town, Hubby have to put his one two hours aside to go bring her out for dinner and when he comes back home, its an immediate back to the comp chair and starts typing, planning and typing away and it does not help with him having a sore neck.

He looks like a turtle that cannot turn his head left or right.. Instead, he has to turn the whole body round just to see what is happening if he is interested in something. Actually, this sore neck would come in handy when it comes to looking at other female species other than yours truly.. LOL but well, a sore neck is no good when he has to go for endless meetings and tons of work to do. Hopefully, the sore neck will go away by tonight or recover fully when the new week commences.

Now I am contemplating whether to just go ahead and cook dinner and well, if Hubby wants to eat, then he eats, if not then I shall just pack it all up and save for my lunch.

If I don't cook, my beautiful asparagus is going to wilt silly and they won't be tasting good. Hmm... maybe I will just whip up two dishes then and only go off to Tesco in the night. Wait.. I totally forgot about my baby rabbits' pellets. Need to head to the petshop to buy their pellets. Mmm..

damnit! I think I will only cook for lunch tomorrow then. Dinner, we can have it outside or ta-paoed. There is other work to be done out here in the house. I really need to get down on fours to clean my bathroom. That I really had procrastinated too long.

Jaden woke up at 830 this morning. For what reason, I am not sure but at the moment, hes fast asleep napping away. Hopefully it will last him till about at least 11pm, then konk out for the night.. until tomorrow. I mean getting up at 830am is a good thing for little boys right?

if only this laundry room was mine.. lovely kan to have tv while ironing? LOL

Ritey rites, have to really get my ass off the comp, go fold Hubby's laundry and hang mine up, feed Jaden if he wakes up and the porridge is cooked.. then clean the toilet, then take a bath then see if I am in the mood to tapao Jaden out of the house and go do some grocery shopping or what nots.

So till then, may it rain at night later on though.. because the weather is killingly hot! *sweating like a peeg*

Have a wonderful weekend people!

If I Had My Child To Raise Over Again – by Diane Loomans

Jaden @ 3 days old

I sort of stumble across this one meaningful poem and I intend to want to adhere to it... for I realized that Jaden is growing up so fast, one day I will be asking where did my baby go?

If I had my child to raise all over again,

I’d build self-esteem first, and the house later.

I’d finger-paint more, and point the finger less.

I would do less correcting, and more connecting.

I’d take my eyes off my watch, and watch with my eyes.

I would care to know less, and know to care more.

I’d take more hikes and fly more kites.

I’d stop playing serious, and seriously play.

I would run through more fields, and gaze at more stars.

I’d do more hugging, and less tugging.

I’d see the oak tree in the acorn more often.

I would be firm less often, and affirm much more.

I’d model less about the love of power, and more about the power of Love.
