Turning 21 Months old

Now that Baby Boy is 21 months old, the fact "terrible two" is coming alive. His temper is getting worse, resulting in endless whacking by the whacko mother. Throwing his head back regardless of what is behind him. So dangerous! Another round of whacking for that sort of behavior. Very demanding in what he wants but well, sometimes he can be manipulated to want other things instead of the initial 'want' of his...

He prefers to feed himself now.. *sniff*

Enough of the naughtiness in him. *sigh* Hes a boy afterall.. always up to mischief which I guess is expected but he also has his sweet side.

Sometimes, he will play by himself and then just out of the blue, he will come to me and pull me towards him and kiss me. He will sometimes turn to Hubby and massage the big bald head, baby talk to us, smiling cheekily, laugh his infectious laugh which makes his father forget all the naughtiness in him (self-protection mechanism) sings to songs (humming mostly) and dancing. He still loves to dance to music, this time his head shaking left to right to left to right as if he is shaking his head to say NO.

Jaden now has 15 teeth, can see some whites budding out still.. still on milk 3 times a day (sometimes 2), porridge, baby rice cereals and our food. He loves his cheese.. so sometimes I let him snack on a piece of cheese while we, the adults eat. Jaden will always have his food earlier than us, then after that, he snacks on with our food.

He does not like noisy animals like barking dogs, I realize. Not that he is scared but he just finds them too noisy. He loves Cheekie and Cheeko, sometimes he will just come and hug Cheekie and kiss her. =) May he grow up to be an animal lover.

Playing with his BumbleSpud! Daddy training him from young...

Plays with his cars and Optimus Prime.. thanks to the VCD he has about trucks and wheels and how they move. He is learning lots of things daily and have his own view of games. Loves putting on his shoes and getting ready to go out, even if it is just a car ride out to tapao. He loves it!

My baby boy is growing up so fast and in three months time, he turns TWO...

Happy 21 Months oLd my baby!

Short series of events in a Sat

Its rather a short series of 'unwanted' events that took place yesterday.

The SimonYap clan went out to have dinner, and thought of stopping by Giant to check out the promotions on baby food and then..

.. at the cross junction where a lot of hawkers stalls were, I had to slow down, let other passing cars and slow moving 'kambings' cross the road at their own sweet time when my bumper got hit. HELLO! My car was already not moving in the first place and the blind bat had to drive his car into mine! Luckily it was not of a much impact, of course, the little bumper of mine dropped down a little, but hit back up by Hubby. Fortunately for the man, he was at least being a polite one, did not agitate Hubby like the last man at one accident we had, which that had alcohol breath and tried to run away.. that got Hubby real mad. So for this guy, he got off easy.. and off we went to Giant after that..

When we were ready to go home, as I was putting the stuff into the car, my left two toes started cramping up and you know the sort of twist your toes gets into and will not undo by themselves until the cramp wears off, well, it happened to me and Hubby didn't understand the pain and well, lets just say I have to proceed on with driving back.. WOW! Its really painful! So, to those that suffers from sudden cramps from driving, I would personally say attend to the pain before you start driving back. What on earth was I thinking of driving with two cramped toes????

Well, made it back home safely tho.. and the cramp only went off when I nearly reached home.. thankfully home was only 10 minutes away!

I love my morning!

I feel rather happy .. at least for now. I just did something rather pleasing (at least I feel that myself) this morning.

Remembering my free ticket collection with a free eye test at Vista, and the collection of the salami, I woke up around 930am and by 1030am, I think I was already at The Curve, lepaking in Vista, waiting for my eye check.

Found out my Right Eye is -8.50/1.50 and Left Eye is -8.25/1.07.. something like that I think but the right eye is higher power than the left one. (Try saying Higher Power like the Thinking Man in Night at the Museum 2 =))

I know! I am almost as blind as a bat.. *sigh*

Its rather expensive or should I say very expensive if I want to do the Lasik surgery on both eyes. Lets just say both eyes will cost RM10k and that also the guy told me, that my astigmatism or shortsightedness might come back after 3 or 5 years and then, I could go for another laser but then again, seriously thinking why would I want to go and cut my cornea into thinner and thinner layers? What if there are no more layers to cut off? Would that leave me blind? Or should I just stick to my conventional contacts and specs and save the cornea tissue.. Its a scary thought but well, I do want to keep my options open for future considerations.

After that 15-20 minutes free eye test and a video viewing on how the lasik is done, I got my two free tickets for Transformers tomorrow, which I am going to give to Hubby as part of his be-lated Father's Day present.

Bumped into Charlene at the ground floor. Its been years since I last saw her.. and well, she slimmed down quite a lot. Will make a mental note to ask her out one of these days to catch up!

I headed over to Borders to get Hubby the latest Jeffery Deaver book as his Father's Day present. I mean, I could not afford to just skip into any LV/Bally/Prada store and get him a present.. and that also won't be appreciated by him but this affordable pressie which comes with a 20% discount just because I bought newspapers too will be appreciated lots more by Hubby. =) Had it wrapped, made a homemade small little paper card, slid it to where he always puts his phone and well, voila! Just waiting for him to wake up and be surprised!!!!!

Julian forgot to bring out my salami so I have to head over to Sg Buloh to pick it up later in the afternoon. *sigh* I am just praying hard that I will not get lost over there. I mean, if I could get lost in Kepong, Cheras or just even KL, what more Sungai Buloh which I might just end up in Ipoh if I am not careful!

Got to go wake Jaden up now and head out lunch with Iz/Tommy whilst Hubby is sleeping. Then off to pick dad up from the lrt and to Sg Buloh I go.. so toodles for now.. and do have a wonderful weekend everybody!

Thinking of nothing but food

Dad is coming down from Alor Setar tomorrow, hopefully this time, in tow some delicious bak changs I love from that state. *sigh* There goes the battle between him, Jaden and me for our TV programs. Badminton for dad, Sesame Street VCDS for Jaden and the Melody Awards tomorrow live for me in the evening. Hmm..

Hubby is out again, this time with IzGrace and Tommy @ Cineleisure watching Transformers for his very 3rd time and if he is lucky, which I think he will be for tomorrow morning, there is a reason for me to wake up early and get out of the house and get another pair of free Transformers ticket. I don't think that movie is going to bore him out anytime.

Somehow when people ask me if I ever get pissed at him going out to movies watching the same movie over and over again without me.. the answer is a NO. Why? Because he loves the characters, he is into them. Yea, I know.. my hubby can be a real geek when it comes to Transformers.. just as long as he does not restrict me when I want to go out with my friends from time to time. That is important to me to keep me contimue being sane.

I thought I shall indulge myself in some one regular pizza today and the cheesy dough since it is just Jaden and I at home and I doubt that Hubby and IzGrace would think of me to want to have supper when the movie is over. I mean if they ever did, WOW! But if they don't, I would have the pizza to keep me in comfort that I am still loved... by food.

Speaking of food, I can't wait to get my hands on the salami that Gwen bought for me. Have to take it from her brother tho early in the morning... which leads to me going to get Hubby another free pair of Transformers tix for this Sunday's show. Would I be able to get myhands on them? Lets see my luck shall we? That, too, will then lead me to Taman Tun to tapao the nice 'chap fun' back for Mom and Hubby. Hopefully Jaden will still be sleeping then when I come home.

I am just oh so excited over the thought of the salami.. Gwen said she bought me two different types. Chilli and Extra Hot Salami. I tried the Chilli one and I loved it.. so well, now for the Extra Hot Salami.. *droOLing* Where is the pizza to keep my mind off them for a while? Hmm.. Has it been pass half hour yet?

Don't laugh too hard at the brand ok Gwen?

I made Longan Konyakku jelly just a while ago. Should be all harden up and chilled by the time Hubby comes home. Got dessert some more! I am such a pig!

Tantrum throwing boy

Please do not be deceived with the smile you are about to see in the picture below because behind this smile, lies a mean bad tempered baby boy! AARRRGGGHHHH!

Jaden's attitude is becoming bad. He would throw his tantrum by throwing his head forcefully behind, making his whole body go jelly when someone catches hold of him and of course the bawling as if he got whacked ten times with a table.

This attitude usually comes in sight and sound when the little one does not get things his way such as he don't get to continue playing at the children's playland in Giant (after like 5 rounds on a ride) and my grocery shopping melting in the plastic bags, his food in his food bowl finishes... *sigh*

Of course, like I said, I will whack him.. and whack I did, till my own hands hurt. *OUCH*

I am seriously wondering is there another way to discipline this child of mine, how to make it go through his head that I shall not tolerate such bratty attitude in my house and as long as I am his mother, there is no way I am allowing him to act as such! Hubby says its time to get the rotan from the pasar malam but I still prefer to use the hand because I know that prolly will hurt enough at the moment for a small little boy his age.

When I am seated at the computer, the ltitle boy will not climb onto me and disturb me using the comp but as soon as his father sits down, the little one will climb onto the big one, irritating the shit out of the father, especially when the father has serious work to do and that is when it will cause quite an argument between the bald one and me. The little one wants to STICK to the father, the father does not want the GLUE near him, and the little one will just go back onto the father like some magnet. How laaaaaa?????

A few days ago, I taught Jaden how to use the crayon to do some drawing on pieces of recycled paper to distract him from disturbing his 'going-to-blow-up' father and well, we came up with this... his first piece of crayon-ed drawing.

Michael Learns to Rock is coming to town!!!

OMG! and I thought they wouldn't be coming back until like 5 or 6 years later and now after 2 years or was it just last year? I should think they came when I was pregnant then.. now I can go and see them sing live! BUT are they going to sing at least some of my old fav songs? or will they be singing from ALL from their new album?

There has been mixed reviews about this Eternity album but then again, MLTR, you either love them or hate them. I like them.. I know Gwen's father like them too right? I remember her telling me that the father has every MLTR album or was that her? Hmm..

Bad Withdrawal Syndrome from BOF

Finally I have finished watching Boys Over Flowers at 6am this morning and even before the last episode, I was already feeling a very bad withdrawal syndrome. Somehow I figured out that there might not be any season 2 to this drama as they have already finished with all the stories that goes on in the drama. *sigh* If only they broke it down like Meteor Garden, I would not have felt this sad. =(

Fingers itchy, I went to YouTube Meteor Garden and watched some episodes just to see the difference between the Taiwanese actors and Koreans, the Koreans are definitely much more stylish and cuter and *sigh* Lee Min Ho looks more man than Jerry Yan as he has softer features but I am going to be fair in this as Meteor Garden was like a hit movie back 9 or 10 years ago so I am going to give the F4 credit too. Well, I did used to think they were kinda cute too.. but not Vic Chou tho compared to Kim Hyun Joong... *mind floats elsewhere...*

Anyway, PChern is trying to help me getover BOF by suggesting another drama to watch out for. So now, I am contemplating between Fated to Love You, Defeated Queen or Hot Shot. I am definitely going to watch them all but just which one for now? Hmm.. Since they are all Taiwanese, it does not really matter if there are no subtitles. Really living up to the 'si lai' status.. hrrummpphh**

Hubby is out watching Transformers:Revenge of the Fallen tonight @ Midvalley. He has been waiting for the movie ever since he heard the second movie is coming out.. and finally today he gets to watch it, thanks to EddyHan who made his wish come true. EddyHan made him a happy happy man.. and he gets to watch it again tomorrow and Friday. I know.. my husband can be such a total geek when it comes to Transformers or Macross. Me? I am just happy staying home taking care of Jaden as I already got my night out with the girls on Sat. =) Next up for me would prolly be Harry Potter.. then that is the time Hubby can stay home and take care of Jaden.

Pretty Boys!

Catching up wtih the Limkokwings

Spungy is down in KL for a week and some of us took some time out to go meet up with him. I wished others could join us as well, but since it was a father's day weekend, many could not make it.

SueKingKong actually suggested Little Penang Cafe @ The Curve so Spungy could at least eat some local food instead of TGIFs or some western which Botswana have too.

I was supposed to pick Spungy up from the Kelana LRT but since his church friends took him for dinner after church, I went ahead to meet Sonia first as she was already at The Curve since 730pm. She was the earliest and by the time I reached The Curve, it was also 815pm then.

She then, companied me to Cineleisure to go purchase the Tues tix for the Transformers screening. I managed to score some good seats for Hubby.. middle middle.. So very satisfied with the purchase!

I decided that we should not wait for the others since Spungy had dinner already and Zairynn was going to be super duper late, Sonia waited since an hour ago.. we then adjourned to Little Penang Cafe and to my lovely surprise, SueKingKong and Jo was standing outside there. She had called me earlier to tell me that she could not make it in case her eye catches infection as she is recovering from her eye surgery but she came after all. I was really happy that she came.

Three of us had dinner without waiting for others... Soon, we were joined by Zairynn and then at about 10, if I am not mistaken, Spungy.

By the time both of them reached, dinner was done and we moved on to The Apartment for drinks and some chit chat. Initially we wanted to go over to Laundry or Santuary but we could not possibly let all the dust and smoke go affect SueKingKong. Anyway it was just a nice place to sit down and talk and laugh and catch up with everybody's life.

Had our customary camwhoring session, tried Biltong (Dried Spiced Beef Jerky which I ended up taking home a whole pack from Spungy.. *hehe*) and we soon left near midnight.

I dropped Spungy, Zairynn and Sonia home and made it back before the time I told them I would reached. If only my car was of some higher powered engine, it would have been sooner. *gRin*

SueKingKong was really sweet when she keeps calling to check on whether I have reached home safely.. *awww* Really appreciated that!

Bought nasi lemak from downstairs for Hubby and well, came back to still no water. Sucks big time! But we are really lucky to have IzGrace be our neighbor at the next apartment and really nice of them to have us over to bathe at their place. If not, we would have smelt like some salted fish!

Just came back

The water I mean.

Finally, at about 20 min ago, the water supply came back. Not in full force.. not puny pee power too but just nice enough to do the dishes, wash up and some wiping up.

*pHew*

Hope it stays for good... and come back in higher pressure if possible!

Worst Weekend ever

First there is water disruption supply from SYABAS to my whole three apartment block only in my area since yesterday at about 230 or 330pm onwards.. meaning no absolute water at all, and no warning letter beforehand to inform the residents.

Second, electricity went off for about 2 hours in the middle of the night at about 330am till about 545am.

Woke up to still no water.. luckily Hubby went down two rounds last night when I came home from meeting my friends to the SYABAS water lorry to fill up two of our biggest pail for toilet use.

Mom was smart enough to go down and buy two big mineral water to fill up the drinking water supply and went down two rounds to the water lorry so she could do the dishes, and still left one full bottle of water supply for washing purposes.

We just have to trouble Grace one more time to head over to her place to bathe and wash up ourselves again today till the water supply comes back. Hopefully by tonight or early tomorrow morning.

It sucks to not have the basic necessities in this era.

Happy Father's Day Simon!

Rest In Peace Mr. Edgar Maurice Augustin, my dearest headmaster

My headmaster, Mr Edgar Maurice Augustin was the eldest son of late Datuk James Frederick Augustin, of whom was one of the sons who made it into The Augustine Family Cricket XI team made it into the Book of Wisden, considered the bible of the international cricket community, as the first family cricket team. The family, - one of the oldest in Penang - became famous throughout cricket-playing countries. At one time, half the Kedah cricket team were said to be the Augustins.

In Penang, the Augustin family started the Sekolah Sri Inai in the early 80s. At its peak during the Indonesian riots in the late 1990s, it had some 550 students, including a strong contingent from Medan. I remember the invasion of the Medan students as they enrolled into school during 1998 onwards...

Sri Inai (Senior) Penang was established in 1981 with only a handful of pioneer teachers and students. The Junior (Primary) School was established in 1985. It conducts classes from Year 1 to Year 6, while the Kindergarten / Tadika was added to the Junior School in 1987. It is opened to children aged 3+ years and above. Till this date, the student population Sri Inai stands at 301 students. Sri Inai had produced over 1000 graduates since 1981.

In 1988, The Senior School moved its classroom and facilities to a brand new campus developed along Kelawai Road. Featuring modern laboratories and bigger classroom, it allowed the school to provide a wider range of facilities and a cutting-edge learning environment for its students.

Year 2003 marked 22 years since its inception of the school, the oldest private school in Penang for local students in the 22 years since its establishment. Sri Inai has gone through many phases of change to achieve the successful status of what it has proven today, as a leading private educational institution.

Anyway the point of this post is to point out what a great man Mr Edgar Maurice Augustin is in one part of my life. It was he who gave me a chance to continue my studies in that wonderful school, of which I am very proud of till today for producing the people we are today. Close-knits till the end, despite either one is the senior or junior.

Fondly known as Oggie, with his infamous Volvo, we fear his booming voice and the surprise rounds he makes during lessons yet we grow to love the man for who he is. Sometimes, during weekends, we can see him walking around in Jalan Burma / Lorong Burma.

His famous words to us were never to say, "I don't know!" but to say "I'll find out the answer."

I am sure he was proud of us as his students. Sri Inai, under his care, had really been a truly wonderful experience that I personally think could not be gotten anywhere else.

If I had a chance to choose any schools back in Penang to study again, I would definitely pick my dearest Sekolah Sri Inai Penang over and over again.

I had been a student there since 1989, studying in Standard 1 till Form 5 in 1999. My time there has really been very memorable and I can't express my gratitude enough to my dear headmaster, Mr Edgar Maurice Augustin. If it weren't for your kind generosity and trust in me to allow me to continue my education in Sri Inai, I wouldn't be part of the close-knit family of Inaians.

The dear old man passed away this morning as I was told. We, Inaians had helped informed those around Penang, representing out batch mates to go attend service and pay our last respects. For those, like me and those abroad can only silently say our prayers and may God Bless the good man's soul. He sure was a good man, and will forever be part of my life story in who I am today.

Thank you Mr. Augustin for all the opportunities you have given me. You will be greatly missed and will always be in our heart and thoughts.

Rest in Peace and God Bless!

Down it goes

The temperature went down.
The cough with phlegm is still there.
Took him to see Dr Altaf, and there he confirmed my suspicions of the fever culprit. It was the sore throat that caused it.
Made Jaden drink lots of water and he is feeling a little better now..
and now the tough time for me, forcing med down his throat.
*sigh*

Hes feeling a lil warm

His forehead and body is feeling warm.
He coughs with phlegm but he still don't know how to spit them out.
He had vomitted milk twice this week, which rarely happens but well, lets just say I changed the bed sheets less than 3-4 days twice this week.
I smell of baby milk puke..

Letting him drink a lot of water now and hopefully by morning, the body temp will go back down normal.. if not, its to Dr. Altaf again!

Guess its time to cook the Barley water again...

Jaden made Simon skipped!

Jaden had a boo boo last night. Hubby was in the kitchen making tea. I was in the washing machine area, trying to hang laundry when *crash boom bang* followed by loud cries and hurrying myself out of the laundry area, I saw Hubby skipped!

He, too, threw down everything he had in hand and rushed over to the TV area. It happened. Jaden fell down the table while dancing to Donald Duck despite countless pleads, NOs and whacks from us not to climb onto the table and dance or even stand on it.

So it happened. The boy fell down the table and this time round, he did not put his hands to where it hurt and I was checking his whole head and body to spot any bruises, cuts or red spots (touch wood**) The little one cried for a good one minute or two before he started smiling and laughing and pushing his father to the DVD player.

He only had a small bruise on the chin / skin. The teeth and gums are fine. We tried to press the hurt area or around it but he didn't even flinched so we are guessing it was a scare for him rather than a hurting bruise. We have taken the table away now.. until he learns the real full use of a table, we are not going to put it back there in front of the TV now.

He really had our hearts skipped a beat.. *aarrgghhh*

He is now attempting to climb the TV cabinet now and sleeping on it. *pulls hair out*

Early Birthday Present for Jaden

Life gets pretty mundane when you are doing the same thing repetitively daily.
I wonder if Jaden feels the same or does he view his days differently. Each day brings new fun?

He has found the latest 'play' thing to keep him amused when he is in the bedroom. He would fold his mattress over, throw in some stuff, drag my blankie and his, sometimes a few toys he can grab around the room and he climbs on top of his mattress with a sense of achievement look.

Hubby calls that area Jaden's loft.

Jaden would just start throwing what he can into the loft, get in it and decide that this and that don't fit in the 'interior' and throws it out again only to put it back in.

Kids do see fun real different from us, don't they. Little things like that can cheer them up immediately.

Singing and imitating his DVD characters could put a smile onto his face and also the look like "You look like an idiot Mommy!" Priceless!

Since Toys'R'Us were having their Starcard Members' special -voucher redemption RM250=RM50 vouchers a few days back, I decided to get him his birthday present first. I know his birthday is not until like 3 months away but well, might as well, collect the points and the vouchers which Hubby can use to redeem his Transformers... Can you guess what I got him? I kinda like it a lot myself and really quite some high hopes in my son that he will love it and learn to embrace it into part of his life as he grows up.

It was either this or that and I chose the later. I think it is much more classy... the drums can come later... =) What next? Guitar? Violin? Maybe violin first...

It look exactly like this.. it is THIS I got him except it does not come with a blond boy!

I got him a mini grand piano that sounds exactly like a piano and has keyboards just enough to play a beautiful song.

I think guys that can play musical instruments are sexy and well, wouldn't it be an A+ for him when he grows up and can go swooning girls with music and all? Hmm.. just hoping I bring him up right, and not be an arse breaking girls' hearts. BUT WELL, that is like in 20 years time so at the moment, I am just thinking how on earth am I going to start to incorporate the love of musice in him to want to pick up this talent?

Now that I am done with buying his birthday present, it is time to start to think where and how and what and who for his coming birthday party!

My boy is turning TWO soon!

Craze for Boys over Flowers

kicking it Korean style..
woo hoot~

Back to Will

Can't help it.. sorry.. am still a schoolgirl at heart sometimes..
Wilbur Pan rocks!!!!

Supper at Tenji

Found out at a food blog website that Tenji was having this food promotion from May to June, supper daily at only RM39.90 which I thought was quite worth it compared to the normal pricing of Rm77 or RM88++. I mean, I would pay for it if there has really been wonderful reviews about it but what I read and heard about Tenji was only so-so, so when this reasonable offers come knocking, of course I will jump at it.

Got our table for 4 last night, thanks to Grace who went over during lunchtime to make reservations since her office was also in Solaris.

Call me 'kampong' but last night was my first time in Solaris. Tenji looked like that from outside.. About all the pics here in this blogpost are all stolen off other bloggers. So just bear in mind, that these are not taken by me ok? Would love to credit the bloggers who took the pictures but I forgot.. *oops.. thousand apologies*

Anyway back to Tenji, the four of us and Jaden went there last night at about 10pm and was given a table at the smoking area. Wasn't really pleased but luckily, no one was insensible to smoke near children. Was not that hot luckily and the view was fab for Jaden to be distracted. Tv and the road with cars below zooming by. Wonderful!

There is really nothing to shout about at Tenji except for the coconuts, that was what Hubby said. I totally agree with him as the coconuts were really nice. Not too sickly sweet, just right for the taste bud. Hubby and I had about 6 coconuts.. 3 each I think...

They served alcoholic cocktails too. For example, vodka orange and etc.. and there was quite a beeline with mostly young teens (those kids looking like they just entered college and drinking alcoholic beverage is damn cool). They were just ordering cups after cups. The last time I drank was 2 cups of beer at Wei's wedding and thats all. I mean, how cool can drinking alcohol be? I really prefer the coconuts anytime!

Dessert was yummy. Even Jaden helped finished 1/2 of the durian cheesecake. He loves durians!
A true Malaysian!

I of course, an ice-cream fan just ate every single ice-cream that was scooped by Hubby. I didn't like the green tea one tho. I find it too weird for my taste.

Well, I won't want to describe much about the food because it was really nothing to shout about.

We finished our supper at about 1130pm, with Jaden pooing over there. Had to change his diaper at the toilet before leaving so the father won't puke out whatever he ate. The father could not stand any stench like that because his nose is 100% more sensitive than mine. Hubby says my nose is useless.. I just can't seem to smell anything.. I blame the sinusitis that I have!

All I wanted to say was the answer to the previous blog below, what does 17 oysters and a greedy girl like me that walloped almost everything that was taken by hubby on the table equals to GOING INTO THE TOILET at least 4 TIMES, which ended around 4am. Started at 1230AM to 4AM.

Never again shall I listen to the glutton in me. Instead, I shall pay attention to the sign they put at the oyster bar. Too much consumption may lead to tummy discomfort or not advisable to be consumed together with dairy products.

But would I do it again if I could.. yea, sure.. but maybe in two or three months time.. just not now.. I need to stay away from oysters for a while...

I always come go to buffet with such enthusiam to gobble up food and more food and come back with regrets.

I never learn, did I?

Guess?

17 Oysters + 2 Roast Beef + 1 Tempura prawn + 2 Grilled Prawns + 3 Coconuts + 7 Makis + 1 Fried Mussel + 1 Kebab + 1 Grilled Meatball + 1 plate of Mixed Mushrooms + 1 plate of Kimchi Baby Octupus + 1 Grilled Butterfish + 1 Honeydew drink + 6 Haagen Daz icecream + 1 Grilled Squid = ? ? ?

Can anyone guess the answer to this equation?

eMs, a BAD parent =)

Sometimes one really have to be the 'bad' parent so the kid does not cross boundaries.

I am the so-called 'bad' parent and I am the one who holds the power to whack Jaden.

Just today, I fed him porridge and after a few mouthfuls, he started his nonsense by pushing the whole thing out of his mouth, dripping onto his neck, shirt, chair and everywhere if he decides to play with food.

*piak* goes on to his arm...

Then I quickly wipe whatever he spitted out and continue with the feeding. This time staring into his eyes and telling him in a stern voice that he has to finish the bowl of porridge I am holding and he won't be able to get down from the chair if he does not finish it.

Another spoon fed, and the same nonsense repeated.

*piak piAK* a little harder than the first spank he got on his arms.

I wiped the mess again and proceeded to try to feed him again this time telling him in a louder voice to not do any of these nonsense as there will be nobody here to save him from the porridge unless he finishes it on his own.

His arms were already red with finger marks. My heart ache looking at it but well, what has to be done has to be done! I only spank him on his hands and thighs because I believe nobody should be slapped because you never know what injury might occur after a slap.. especially to a child.

He takes it spoon after spoon, whined at first but relented and well, soon he finished the bowl and I happily wiped his mouth, gave him his water and now he is shitting it all out! *sigh*

It does work on a child when you are the 'bad' parent.

Even after a few spankings on the thighs when he climbs the table to reach the DVD player or the DVD cupboard.. he is scared when I approach him when he stands on the table. He knows he is not allowed to do it.. and he looks at me first before he attempts his stunts.

Trust me if it was his father, it will be endless bullying from the son. Can you imagine a child defeating the Bald one? *gRin*

I win hands down in good disciplinary parenting in the house!!! WOO HOOOOOOO~

what no child should endure....

Was blog browsing, doing my norm and when I came across this blog, it made me cry so hard. It is only 11 in the morning and there I was crying away like nobody's business.

Was reading through the whole ordeal this family had to go through for their baby girl and somehow, when you are a mother, you do understand the worry, the heartache and well, thankfully the baby girl is recovering well.

No child should ever have to go though such an experience. I believe children should be just happy, carefree, worry-free and enjoy their childhood.

I still teared up when thinking of the matter... like how Jaden gave both Hubby and I a scare when the paed said he might have a heart murmur when he was one month old and that send me into a frenzy wanting to search for the paed cardiologist to have a heart scan quickly done on my little baby to ensure that the paed was wrong!!!!!!!!

Thankfully it was nothing but a scare..

Will continue praying so for that mommy's daughter because that is all I can afford at the moment..

Lunch

This is no new dish but for me, this is the first time I made it and it turned out well.. so here goes.

Semi-Dry Curry Chicken
  • A whole tray of diced chicken (can buy in Giant / Tesco) -sprinkled with salt
  • Curry leaves (1 stickful of leaves)
  • Curry Powder for Meat (Allagappa's)
  • Bunga Cengkih (6 to 7)
  • Star Anise (3)
  • Coconut Milk (pour accordingly /whatever amount you think reasonable)
  • 2 tablespoon of soya sauce
  1. First, I washed the diced chicken and sprinkled a generous amount of salt. Would like to think I locked in some taste into the chicken.
  2. Washed the curry leaves, drained and put aside.
  3. Heat up the pot, pour in the oil.. and then pour in the spices such as curry leaves, bunga cengkih and star anise and fry a little till you smell the fragrance of the spices.
  4. Pour in the curry powder, not too much.. maybe a small little rice bowl quantity.
  5. Drizzle in the coconut milk then.
  6. Seeing that your curry powder might look a little fried, pour in just half a cup of water from your usual drinking mug. Maybe 1/4 would also do.
  7. Then put in the chicken and let them all be coated nicely with the curry.
  8. After two minutes or so, when the curry starts to boil, pour the soya sauce in for taste. Not too much as you don't want the curry to be toooooo salty.
  9. Stir from time to time so the bottom will not be charred. Low heat would be best!
  10. Once you feel the chicken is cooked and have the curry taste in them a bit, its ready to be served.

p/s: I did not put in potatoes because I forgot but it would really go nicely with diced little potatoes. Recommended!

So there, my semi-dry curry chicken for lunch.. sorry I didn't manage to take photos because when I remembered, it was all gone! =)

o.Oh and remember I said something about my Creamy Corn Konnyaku Jelly. It turned out ok but I was not really satisfied with it. Hubby says it tasted something like what someone on diet would eat. Not 'lemak' enough.. but that was not what I felt about it.. its something missing.. I really wonder what. This is how it looked like!

Looks disgusting eh? I felt disgusted when I came to eating the body part.. it really felt as if I was eating goldfish for real! LOL

Caught in action

Hmm.. which one should I pick?

It seems that Campbell soup is better than the evaporated milk

Let me read the facts at the back.. mmm interesting!

Oops.. mommy caught me!

Come back here Campbell!

*yawn* now let me search for something else to play with...

Yesterday and Today

YESTERDAY I woke up as early as 730am, made milk for Jaden to drink.. went off to bathe and freshen up and out I took my parents to have dim sum at Damansara Jaya. My dad has been coming up to KL so many times and I think this is one of my first time bringing both he and my mother out for breakfast. Well, I am not counting the times I have to wake up early to fetch them to the hospital for ma's check up.. but well, breakfast with them this time round brought me back memories to days when I was still a young little girl to form 5 where Dad will bring us out to dimsum every Sunday morning. This time, its my turn taking them out for breakfast and paying for the bill. Feels good to be a big girl now!

Taken last month during my parents' birthday / Mother's Day celebration

Dad went back on the 430pm bus. Since I had nothing else better to do, I decided that I would fetch him down to Puduraya instead of him taking the bus and LRT and walk all the way to Pudu. Took Jaden and mother out with me too.. and when we came back, Hubby was still having his weekend sleep. *sigh*

Sitting with Gong Gong watching French Open as soon as I woke up

Cooked dinner for mother and Hubby at about 6pm since mother had a full lunch with dad earlier on and Hubby had a realllllllly late BIG ASS lunch. This time, I cooked dices of chicken marinated with a dash of rice wine, a dash of sesame oil, generous sprinkle of salt, dark soya sauce and a tablespoon of corn flour. Then I stir fried the chicken with lots of garlic, red capsicium cut into thin strips and a 6-7 dried chillis. They turned out quite well although I think I did bad.

In fact, I did bad for the whole meal. I even went wrong with the rice... *shakes head* Had wanted to cook the chicken rice but I overestimated and it turned out too salty that I have to cook another pot of white rice to mix with the chicken rice.

Do I look like a school-going boy?

Vege was stirred fried as usual, so nothing went wrong there but the rice and the chicken dish felt so wrong to me that I went into depression. I went straight into the room where Jaden was napping and I fell asleep beside him there for almost an hour.

Hubby was then busy with work, glued to the comp.. so to avoid Jaden pissing him off by climbing on him, I took mother and Jaden out to Tesco to do some grocery shopping. We went out at about 930pm .. and on the way home, get stuck in the 1030pm-everybody-goes-home traffic jam. Earlier in the day, we were stuck in the Masjid Jamek jam going to Pudu, coming back jam from KL Sentral through Brickfields.. But boy, it just felt thereupeutic for me to drive the whole of yesterday tho.

That explains why I am feeling so tired out TODAY that all I want to do is sleep and sleep and sleep. Hubby even have to make lunch for the whole household today. *oops* Guess what we had for lunch? We had breakfast! Sausages, Eggs, Mashed Potato and Baked Beans! =)

Watching evening news AEC with Gong Gong

Thought I would make dessert and I am just done with the Creamy Corn Konnyaku Jelly. This is the first time I am trying out the recipe. Used Coconut Milk instead of Evaporated Milk or Whole Milk. Wonder if it will work but now I am letting it cool down in the fridge. If it turns out good, I will share the recipe.. if not, guess I have to try till I succeed. I am such a failure in the kitchen, unlike Hubby who has the Midas' touch to cooking. He says its either you are it or you are not it.. and I fall into the NOT IT category.. *shrugs* I guess that is when the saying "Practice makes perfect" comes in good I guess.. =)

Jaden is back to his no appetite and refusing his rice cereals. So worried about him now. His appetite is slowing down. He can't seem to finish his food lately. I hope it is just for these couple of days only.. if not, I have to feed him back Pediasure to make sure he don't lose weight and have enough nutrients at the same time.
