Last weekend had been a great weekend getaway for me. Just me, myself and I on a plane, heading south to Singapore.
Reason for going :-
1) My girlfriends are flying in :- PG - KL - HK and meeting one up that is based in SG.
2) My boyfriend (fine, my imaginary bf), LeeHom is having his MusicMan II @ Singapore.
Since I missed the show in KL and since he is my #1 idol, I have to attend the concert no matter what. So when I heard the news about the ticket sale pre-launch, I got my trusty girlfriend, PC to help me buy first thing in the morning and in the evening, for Z to help me buy flight ticket. Yes, I bought the flight ticket two months in advance and got it at a cheap rate too. Woo hoo ~
I was glad I did it because, not only did I get a 10% off, I got one of the best seat in the house for the cheapest ticket. Hey, SGD ain't exactly favorable against Ringgit so I got to pay within my budget without forgoing a great show.
So, last Saturday, I drove myself to the airport early in the morning and found quite a strategic parking spot. Why strategic? Because there were two policemen sitting right under the tree shades monitoring the parking lot. Checked in as early as I could and thumbs up for Tiger for being on time, earlier in fact. Just that I didn't really like the experience coming back though. Thats another story to tell next time. I just want to talk about happy things here.. =) =)
Bumped into an old friend whom I have not seen since 2005 and now, hes a married man with three kids. THREE KIDS already?? He was with his wife and daughter, just sitting in the row right infront of me.
Then when we landed, I decided to save on cab and took the mrt instead since the hotel I am staying this time is just right above the mrt. So convenient ! and best, its only SGD3.
WW and PC was out shopping at that time nearby so I went up to the room first and rested a bit before they came and join me for my first meal of the day. Actually, the food I ordered was not bad. Then PC left for home to refresh herself while WW and I took the MRT down to Orchard. Thought I could do a bit of shopping for Jaden but we ended up just walking, getting lost and in the end, we took a cab back to the hotel where I got ready to head out for my next appointment -LEE HOM!
The atmosphere was ecstatic. This time, my experience in attending a concert in Singapore changed. It was a 360 change from the experience I had during SuShow III. Maybe because I was seated next to amazing friendly LeeHom fans and to see the Homaniacs in the
VIP seats holding up the MALAYSIA sign made me feel a little better.
Despite my ticket cost being the lowest with the additional 10% off, I still believe that I might actually have quite a good seating as Singapore Indoor Stadium ain't that big and everything was rather clear, with the large LCD screens, I could not ask for more. Made some new friends who were really really nice and friendly, resulting in me leaving the concert with one of the girls., Coke (her Thai nickname) *grin* Just kidding. We were actually heading to the same direction and us being tourist, decided to go together.
The concert was AMAZING.
LeeHom NEVER FAILS to entertain his fans, giving them what they want. His musical talents BEYOND WORDS. That UNIQUE voice that you can distinguish him from other singers any time. FAB with his words.. though I felt that he actually love Singapore. :( but then that is just my feelings.. I know, Singapore is a clean, safe, modern and much more profitable than Malaysia but me, being Malaysian and proud to be one, just feel a little sad that sometimes these artistes tend to overlook their Malaysian fans.
Zhang ZiYi was also there, attending his concert. LeeHom and ZiYi were actually in Singapore for a few weeks, filming for their new movie. Shes rather pretty in person too and she seems to enjoy the concert as much as we did.
This time, I bought myself a MusicMan II souvenir, something which I don't think I would be able to get my hands on if its in KL. Those would have sold out like mad in KL, knowing how large the fanbase is here in Malaysia.
The concert ended at about 11pm and I headed towards Clarke Quay to meet up with the girls who have been waiting for me.
Of course, me being me, got lost together with Coke at the MRT line. Stupid MRT keep winding
up at the station that we didn't want despite
us getting on and off and on and off again. In the end, we got so frustrated, we got off at MBS station and well, I got a sort of non-official look and walk at that place, pass by Avalon, saw the beautiful Fullerton across MBS *sigh* if only I could slow time down, I would have liked a nice walk and take some touristy pictures.
Finally we hopped onto the cab, walked around Clarke Quay, my phone was down -could not call out nor received calls/sms.. until we bumped into Coke's friend who was on her way to meet Coke too and she helped me made a call to PC and took me to meet my girls. How nice right? And I just only met Coke a few hours ago...
We partied for a while at Attica, while looking at all sorts of people from all walks of life, making a fool out of themselves in there.. a teenage girl who fell down on the floor drunk, flashing her panty to everyone present, an embarassed boyfriend pulling her up and they continued making out like nobody's business... a really good looking expat with some trashy looking local, who only have eyes for his trashy girl.. *sigh*
Anyway, we girls had a few drinks before calling it a night and one by one, all fell asleep as soon as we had a quick bath at about 4am-ish.
I, had to get up early at about 9am the next morning to meet a fellow mom for breakfast. Luckily, the mom was kind enough to meet me at the hotel, and me using the hotel voucher for free breakfast for the both of us as the others were still sleeping and by the time they wake up, breakfast would have been over.
Since the girls were still sleeping, and I needed some help with directions getting to SuperNature and H&M, the mother offered to come along with me. You have no idea how grateful I am to her for coming with me and also introducing me to SuperNature. I went wild with purchase after purchase at SuperNature for Jaden's things. Guess the exchange rate in SGD didn't stop me after all..
Money spending did not just stop at SuperNature, which turns out to be situated just behind St. Regis Hotel. If only I knew about SuperNature back in Feb, that would have been even more perfect. I headed to H&M to get Jaden some clothes for his birthday. I think we walked nearly the whole Orchard and the only thing that made me remember where H&M was A&F. Yes, those yummy young half-naked hot-bod models do really make you remember the shop location. * BIG MONKEY GRIN*
By the time I was done with my shopping, it was about 1230pm and the mom and I parted ways at Orchard with me taking a cab back to the hotel to meet the girls for lunch. Saw SC, but she was heading out to lunch with her Sg friends so we had a quick talk and after I quickly packed, I took a cab to meet the two girls who left without me for lunch at a nearby area.
Thankfully, they have not started on their lunch yet and well, it was one of the best meals I had in Sg, other than the ramen place that LinaRee brought me before. I am sure many would have heard of this chicken rice place called Boon Kee Chicken Rice. After a scrumptious filling meal, and some girly chat.. it was time for me to head back to the hotel, take my luggage and head straight to the airport.
2days 1night in Singapore with my girls is just too short... after minus-ing out the hours I spent at MusicMan II. I already missed them when I sat in the cab, heading to the airport.
So did I enjoy my getaway trip? Well, it was a yes and no, yes because I got to meet my girls and also watched the concert, no because of some accusations, which I WILL NEVER FAIL to get whenever I am away without the boy. That fact never changes ... :(
and that concludes my Singapore trip in August 2012.

your blog really inspires me. good to know you were having a great time with your bff's. btw, who's looking after jaden when you're away? those ppl who accused you for leaving him behind r just jealous that u can go for holidays.
I am glad it inspires you :) though in reality, my life is quite a looping routine daily. I did have fun catching up with my bffs though it would have been better if I could stay one more day together with the girls, alas the big man at home could not handle the small one alone on his own more than 24 hours. :)
