CONGRATULATIONS

to both group of my friends on both different joyous occasion!

ONE:

IzGrace

on their marriage -oh how Simon and I have waited for this very day for both of you!

TWO:

SharonSer and Cheah

on the arrival of their little bouncy 3.5kg baby girl!!

I did not plan it!

I did not do it! I mean.. I did not plan it! nothing of that sort.. no way! It just happened!

as I was going down the travellator with Jaden, asking him to stand properly and telling him its important for me to hold his hand when I saw it.

My heart then went "DUP DUP! DUP DUP! DUP DUP!".. it almost jumped right out of me and I have to keep my cool and well, was thinking if I should just make a U-turn or head on home as planned..

I did not even bother looking back. Because if I did, I know for sure, my conscience will start to go to work.. so I just carried on the second plan of mine - head home.

Calmly paid for my parking, put on the seat belt for Jaden. lock the car doors and drove home...

but deep inside, there is a voice telling me and it is still ringing in my ears this very moment while I am typing this "Karma is a bitch! Karma is a bitch! What have you done Emily Loo??? Karma is going to be really bitchy!!!"

and I drove home, not really knowing if I should call Hubby up and tell him what happened, or should I just let this one slide? I know I have to blog about it because its once a blue moon, I will be doing stupid things like these without me even realizing it. Now, how stupid am I ? *sigh*

I am feeling so guilty now but well, what was done had been done and cannot be undone so I shall just leave it as it is..

I will just assume I got a free gift with all my other purchases but I doubt I will get so lucky next time round.

Change

Life is a total changearound now that Jaden started his therapy classes.

Although its only a 4day week class, 2 hours each with a one hour interval before the next but well, it sure have changed both Jaden and my daily schedule.

Good in a way, which I think it should have been like that in the first place but the very thought of sleeping in the morning is so tempting.

These days, if I have prepared his 'breakfast' the night before, then I will have the luxury of waking up at about 830am, half hour before Jaden but if I were to prepare a whole new breakfast for him, then it would have to be earlier. I, will then, konk out the same time Jaden goes to nap.

The first day of class was rather pleasant for him and his team of therapists but then again, that was only for show. Like his god-ma Gwen said, the novelty has worn off. Right on the second day, he threw mini tantrums which both Hubby and I could hear from the room. Thankfully it did not last through the whole 2 hours of class. If not ... *faint* !!!

Well thanks to the early morning get up schedule for Jaden, now, we all go to bed at about 1030pm / 11pm and he will be fast asleep latest by 12am. Now, this might sound still a bit too late for a child to go to bed but well, its already a huge cry difference from the hours he used to sleep. Trust me, you don't want to know.

In order to let him be tired out by 1030pm, I only allow him to nap for about an hour or an hour half, either at about 1pm (when he has no class on that day) or 3pm right after his class. So far, things are going quite smoothly and I hope it stays that way or gets even better.

and as for his milestone development, well, we will only know after a month or two after he gets used to worktime and playtime in his therapy classes and from there, hopefully I can move him on to occupational therapy and speech therapy. Keeping my fingers crossed!

Step by Step

I am so excited today.

and this time it has nothing to do with any celebrity-fan crazy me!

Finally after months of searching, making calls here and there, meeting up with the people responsible and then just sat waiting... waiting..

and finally today, the three of them showed up at my doorstep at 9am in the morning, bearing the SimonYap clan good news.

Jaden will soon begin his long awaited home-based ABA (Applied Behavioral Analysis) therapy classes.

Why home based and not centre-based for me? Well, after doing my research, I realized for my boy's sake, its better for him to start from home where he has the comfort of waking up, eating and not having to quickly bathe, spend the time on the road to the centre which will make him tired again and then he will throw a tantrum and not learn anything.. and money goes to waste.

I rather he be comfortable and learn from where he feels confident and safe and that I can do my stuff at the same time at home, while still be a part of his therapy lessons.

This ABA therapy does not come cheap but Hubby is doing his best to provide to give Jaden the best treatment / recovery process he can afford.

For now, we will only be starting at about 18 hours a week, which I will be the 3rd filled in therapists working with him (strictly) for about 4 hours (2 hours a day -2 days only) as the other two therapists will come from Tue-Fri. One in the morning and the other in the afternoon.

and when the boy starts to progress, we will then see how we can add on the hours, because ideally the hours to work with children with ASD would be 30 hours weekly. At the moment, we will start slow, introducing him to the two therapists, allowing him to accept them and trust them enough to play and work with him.

Words cannot describe my excitement at the moment because this means one step forward and well, i am keeping my mind open and positive that the household of SimonYap will soon see some progress and more progress, together with the help of his biomeds.

Speaking of that, it means now I have to clear whatever that is not needed in the second room to make way for his therapy room. We have already bought quite a few materials for the therapists to work with him.

I feel really grateful to those who had helped me get to this day. The forum, the parents, the two supervisors whom I met up.. they have been really helpful and patient with all my questions -starting from where and how should I begin to get my son on the road to recovery...not to mention my bestfriends who chipped in in their own way.

Thank you so much!
