Expensive Education

Now that Jaden turned 2, I am starting to worry about his speech, and his social well-being on how he is going to interact with other kids while learning useful stuff other than picking up things he learn from his DVDs.

I have a few playschools/schools set in mind for him, which of course don't come cheap but well, its more to playing than learning just yet so that is why these schools are in my top choices, followed up by other kindys that I kind of like.

1. Kizports & Gym for their Little Rompers session. Its about RM160 permonth with RM160 depo and RM40 per annum to pay up. I am not sure if it is a 3 day thing but one thing for sure is that parents get to accompany the kid to the class and well, its only 50 min per class. Damnit! The one tihng good about it is that it is in One Utama, so damn near to my place so well... *tee hee*

2. Play n Learn but... the main page advertised that its mainly for 3 yos onwards. Jaden is only 2.. so well..

3. Insights Kids. Found it through mamapumpkin's website and thought its pretty good just that would it be mostly education as in papers and writing and all? The address, too, suggest a hole in a pocket but well, will check it out too since its for the boy.

4. Gymboree can be rather expensive too. Found a mother posting online :-
(1) Trial Class cost RM48
(2) Annual Membership fee RM150
(3) Term Fee Cost RM420/ 12 weeks
(4) Yearly Package Cost RM1780/ 48 weeks

and that is for the newly opened branch in Tropicana City Mall... expensive?

5. Tadika Diyana but that will only be when he really ready for school, which I guess Malaysian kids' norm age to enter is 4? keeping my options open but it does seem like a good kindy right? Now with the kindy fees, gonna set back about RM5000++ yearly.. why is education so expensive these days?

So who wants to have a football team of kids now? I am happy with one now..

I know for sure Jaden will be going to a government school for all I care because I would rather save the money and put him in a good university and pay for the tuition fees unless he is smart enough to get scholarships... =) but well, won't think that far off now.. will just start with a good foundation in a good kindy for him.
