Time for a switch

Jaden has been putting on his weight nicely after consuming Pediasure and is now at the ideal age for a 20 month old. Hubby and I decided that it was time to put a stop to him putting on more weight through the milk powder and to switch to a milk powder that is high in DHA nutrients.

So we made the change to Enfagrow A+ Vanilla flavored so he won't get eeked out by the sudden change of his Vanilla flavored Pediasure to some bland original milk flavor.

Some spinning photo of the tinned milk powder I snazzed off the website.. =)

Well, I am not sure if the choice is right when it comes to choosing Enfagrow A+ from Mead Johnson but as there are so many brands out there. Anmum Essentials, Nespray, Dugro (used to be known as Dumex), Sustagen and many more I am sure but these are one of the few more well known brands. All claimed that their milk provides DHA for the brain growth of the child and all so how did I come to make a decision to choose the milk Jaden is drinking now?

By majority, ads (sucker for ads) and pricing. Changing him from Pediasure to Enfagrow A+ was quite a breather to the wallet. Pediasure for a 1.9kg tin costs about RM116 in Tesco / RM111 in Giant. Enfagrow A+ 1.7kg tin costs about RM86 in Tesco / RM80 in Giant. See the about RM20 difference it makes to the wallet? So we will usually grab two tins each time we buy because Jaden drinks about twice a day, sometimes 3 times when he refuses his normal food intake.

Well, going to give this milk a tryout for at least 6 months to see if Jaden developed some genius milestones thanks to the 4x DHA they claimed to have in their milk. Would really be estatic if Jaden could start talking more words for a start... =)

Bringing up children ain't a cheap and easy process. Instead it is the other way round. It is a tedious job where one is always on a constant lookout, expensive in terms of nutritions for the young and good education so he/she grows up to be a useful person in the society. Lets not even go near the clothing section... and their wants in Toys'R'Us once they start to understand the meaning of FUN, PLAY and WHY CAN'T I HAVE WHAT THEY HAVE???
