Baby and Me

When I stop blogging for a few days and finally land the comp to myself, I find myself nothing to blog about even when the event took place and I know I want to blog about it to keep the memory alive but, well, procrastination got the better out of me and soon, I don't even know what I want to write about anymore. Sometimes worse, I forget totally about everything. -_-

Jaden knows how to bounce his ball now, only once, when he bounces it to either Hubby or me but its really a strong bounce. He loves playing with the rubber ball. He would put on the bassinet's end, where it will get stuck and then he will make all sorts of noises to get our attention so we will go get the ball and play it with him. That is one of his ways to get our attention all on him. *sigh*

He pinches real hard now and I am so worried about how he will behave when he is put in a playschool or with other children. Jaden still do not know how to control his excitement and when he gets excited, he will get really rough. If it is with us or our own close family friends, we can still tolerate him or either reprimand him for doing so, but if he hurts other kids and they retailiate? Jaden is really going to get a whacking from some stranger and that will then make Hubby or me really really angry but we know ourselves that this child of ours is really brutal and ganas when he gets excited.

Earlier in the afternoon, since Hubby was going to take a bath, I thought it would be more convenient for him to bathe Jaden but when I undressed Jaden and put him in the bathroom with his father, who is ready to shower him, the boy started crying and wanting to escape. In his failed attempt to escape, he fell backwards and hit his head on the floor. *sigh* The father then shouted for me to bathe his son instead and soon enough, when I took over and showered the boy, he started calming down and let me shower him as usual. Is it because he feels shy or is he more used to me bathing him compared to others? hmm..

I must say Jaden is really a naughty boy and sometimes I go crazy when he is in his naughty mood. Its rather dangerous when I go crazy with Jaden because the cane becomes my bestfriend and boy, Jaden do really get a good whacking, especially when it is his nap time and he keeps fighting sleep even he is really tired, and crying and trying to jump out from his bassinet. That is when the cane will land two nice red strokes on his thighs. Am I feeling the pain when I cane him? Nah.. he deserves it! Will teach him who is boss and when his attitude is really unacceptable in this house of Yaps. Jaden has a really bad temper and most of the time, he will throw tantrum despite knowing he deserves that BIG NO from us, scolding and all, and when he chooses the wrong time to throw tantrum with his father, down goes the cane too on him courtesy of the father. Woo hooo~

I do think I need to travel with the cane this December when I bring him back with me to Penang for the one whole week. Hopefully his grandparents will not spoil him them.

Enough of Jaden for now.. so what have I been up to? Hmm.. I am currently following a few dramas on TV:-

I am such a couch potato but well, since leaving work, I guess this is the only thing that can keep me sane while taking care of Jaden, and well, girlfriends hardly finding me.. I seldom have anyone to talk to unless its a one way conversation with Jaden, mostly ending in shouting at him for climbing the gate, displaying some heavy stuff on the TV cabinet.. o.Oh and one more thing that keeps me sane too.. shopping.. online! Guess this is mostly where my money will end up other than on food and more shoes and clothes. *tee hee*

Now I am just waiting for the right time where I left off Beach.Balls.Babes from 7pm earlier and going to submerged myself, one with the sofa and TV remote and then follow with Jolly Widows. So toodles till I find something much more interesting about my life to write about. =)

I find myself looking so much older *uwahhhhhhhh*, Hubby remains the same and well, Jaden of course grew up from his One Year Old look.

Jaden @ 24 months

Earlier today, Hubby and I took Jaden to Dr Altaf's clinic for the pneumococcal conjugate vaccine. It was first introduced to us when he was about 4 months old, and that was when we decided to give him the rotavirus vaccine first. Dr Altaf did told us that if Jaden is mostly home and does not go daycare or mix much with other children, then the pneumococcal vaccine can wait till he is a litte older, best when he turns 2 and he only needs a jab, instead of the 4 doses if he is younger then. So we waited till he turns 2 and la la la, he got the jab today.

I thought rotavirus vaccine was expensive enough, the pneumococcal vaccine turns out to be much more expensive but well, can't save those moo-lah on something so precious and important, can we? Nothing else really matters other than Jaden's well-being.

Each pneumococcal jab to the butt costs RM340.. so can you imagine those kids that has to take 4 jabs to the butt? How much would that set the parents back. Luckily for Jaden, it is just one jab and so today, RM340 went inside Dr Altaf's pocket. All for the greater good...

Kind of disappointed though that it was not Dr Altaf who jabs him, but Dr Wong. I think this is the second time we have Dr Wong attend to us and each time Dr Wong attends to Jaden is always for jabs. The first time was when Jaden had to have the chicken pox vaccine and now this pneumococcal conjugate vaccine. Just somehow, its psychological but I think Dr Altaf would understand Jaden more because he has seen Jaden since Day 2 of Jaden's life! Don't get me wrong, I don't have anything against Dr Wong but you know the familiarity sometimes do make you feel much more at ease... well.. its just that but Dr Wong is gentle with Jaden too so well, its ok I guess.

I have to say Dr Altaf is really really a good pediatrician. Jaden treats him like a long-time-no-see-friend whenever we have to go to the clinic. In fact, Hubby thinks Dr Altaf is expensive in a way, not only because of the postcode of the area, Taman Tun but also because he is so good, Hubby thinks its worth paying the price to see his son gets better in the hands of this expert doctor. So for those mommies out there, that lives around kota damansara, taman tun and damansara utama area, Dr. Altaf is really highly recommended. You can actually google his name and put ttdi behind and voila, all posts about other mommies' experience with the clinic is good. =) OK.. i took this pic off someone's twitpic but just giving you guys the faint image of how the clinic looks like...

Jaden cried a little when the jab was administered. Guess now that hes older, he knows the difference between pain and needle poking but he did not cry long. Right after the jab is over, his crying stopped too. Not so heroic like previous times but at least it was not that "MURDER!!!!" kind of cry.

When we were waiting to pay, Jaden started running around again the clinic and wanted to be a lounge lizard but when he lounged on the couch, he sat on the no-jabbed butt side. Guess its pretty hurting and numb there at the moment. =) All in all, it was all good. No signs of the med side-effects. In fact, I doubt he has any slight fever after all the jabs he took. *pHew* *** touch wood***

Now at 24 months, only Jaden learned how to jump.

YES! JUMP with both legs off the ground but still sometimes it will be just one feet up followed by the other. Its really cute to watch because each time he attempts a jump, the expression on his face is priceless. Its lovely and happy-fyings to see him attempt new things that makes him happy.

I am not sure where he learn or gathered the courage to jump but I suspect it must be from the Baby Einstein DVD. He twirls round and roung when the kids turn, he does the head, shoulders, knees and toes actions when the kids does it during the song in the DVD, he tries to copy Baby Bop doing the Itsy Bitsy Spider actions and putting his hands up high when the "Castle so High" song comes on. He is learning and picking up all these things real fast... Just wondering when he will pick up speech as fast as all those actions.

He has learn to chew his rice and other type of food instead of trying to swallow them whole, thinking everything could just slide down his throat like his baby rice cereals. I am glad he is starting to chew but it could take up to 5 minutes for each spoonfeed. He has not yet mastered the understanding of feeding himself. He thinks its a play thing if he is given the spoon and bowl so in order to avoid a big fat oily mess, I rather sit down and feed him. Sometimes though, I will take his hands and teach him that when he holds the spoon, it should go into his mouth. *gRin*

He is very interested in playing with his rubber ball at the moment. Throwing them and hoping we would play it with him too. If not, he will just throw it, run aafter it, pick it up and throw again. He don't really know how to kick the ball yet although Hubby has shown him countless times, and despite the ball sometimes ending hitting me in the face when Hubby kicks them, nope, he has not pick that particular skill up just yet.

The pediatrician did mention something about Jaden is a little behind time in speech, but well, I just think when Jaden is ready to speak, he will prolly be a chatter-box and we will wish we can have some peace and quiet for at least just 2 minutes in a day. So, I am going to allow Jaden to take his time to be ready to want to talk, but of course with some help to prompt him to see that talking can be fun instead of just MMMMMMMMMMMM... EHHHHHHHHH when he wants something.

Got to go now to bathe the sweaty little boy and off to Tesco to buy some stuff. Just my son and I. Ciao.

Which style suits him best?

A lot of people commented that Jaden's hair is really long and that I should have it cut. I have not decided on what hairstyle so that is why I leave his hair to grow as long as it can get at the moment.

I am looking into a few hairstyles but I kind of favor the bowl cut hair best but that also depends on how good the stylist is.. if not hairstyle sure fail gila!

Girlfriends

Two different batch of girlfriends.

One from Penang, whom I have known for 19 years.. since both of us were in Standard 3... and another whole gang from the LimKokWing Institute of Creative Technology days...

and and you know whats the funny thing? Those friends of mine from Penang who were present at the party and the LKW girlfriends? One batch comprised of married people and the other, single hoochie ladies (except for KelvinSiah)

WWei came down to KL last Thursday for a business meeting and being the friend I am, played host to her for the 3-half days she was here. The last time I met up with her was during her wedding back in April, about 6 months ago and years before that... not a shadow to be seen as she was studying / working in US. Thankfully her husband decided to move back to HK to settle down and there she is, in Asia just like the other rest of my girlfriends now. Nearer kan?



Took her to some of my favourite eating places, took her to shop around which she ended up about RM300 poorer in just a matter of 2-3 hours @ One Utama and the next day, left her to walk about at The Curve flea market so she can have her own leisurely time to do whatever she wants instead of rushing through the day with me.

Edwin and his wife then came over in the evening on Sat and we caught up with each other's life, laughing away like what we usually did in school, exchanging more news about other friends that each of us are nearer to or mostly sees.

as for the other gang of friends of mine, well, they decided to entertain themselves with a game of Taboo, and camwhored without me but I am glad Jaden's party became a mini reunion for them as its really hard to get all of us in a place together at the same time.




They of course, camwhored, gossiped and laughed without me.. *sigh* but well, at the end of the day, I just hoped that those that came to Jaden's party enjoyed themselves thoroughly.

Jaden's 2nd Birthday Party @ Poolside

We had a birthday party for Jaden last night on 3 Oct as his real actual birthday, which was about a week ago, fell on a Monday and we sort of figured that nobody would turn up on a weekday.

I had Jaden's timetable planned out well, so he would be able to have ample energy by the time his party starts and boy I did good.

Woke him up at about 1230pm, went out lunch at Paddington's with WWei, left her at The Curve to walk around and shop a bit on her own, went round to this lady's house to pick up Jaden's customized birthday cake, sent it to Iz's house first, went home and bathed the small one who was already yawning by then. After his bath, it was instantly into his bouncing bassinet and soon he was off to dreamland without any struggles at about 4pm.

I then, took my own sweet time in doing what I have to do to get ready for Jaden's party and finally, when 6pm comes, I woke the boy up and quickly fed him full, change him and Iz came over to pick Hubby and Jaden over to his place with the baby chair first whereas I had to run over to The Curve to pick my girlfriend up. o.Oh.. btw, Hubby just reached home at about 6pm because he had work earlier in the day, which he left the house since 730am. Talk about a tired daddy, a mummy who was so scared that things would not turn out as it is expected and hoping the little one would put on his best behavior (which he being himself, did not!)

The caterers were already there at about 530pm to set up the food, drinks & dessert and bbq area. The menu was rather ok, which I find myself liking the Mee Siam, Sotong, the bbq-ed prawns on the sticks and ABC best!

Guests started arriving by the time the clock hits 7pm. Thevi & Stuart were the earliest, followed by Joy Kai-Ma, then JeffryGoh and then I lost count. All I knew was most of the guests we invited turned up..

Jaden was already busy running around, which we had to supervised because its near the poolside, fearing he might just want to take a dip in the pool. *phew* Luckily he is scared of the pool.

Iz, Gynette and Jeffry helped hung the paper lanterns I bought for some decoration, which also goes in theme with the Chinese calendar of the mid-autumn festival.

Luckily Iz and his family were there to help me keep an eye on Jaden and the little sister entertaining Jaden with his new three-wheel vehicle. Hubby and I were busy entertaining guests and sometimes, the little boy as well, whom got so excited over playing, he throws a tantrum each time we want to put him down in his baby chair to eat or drink. The only time he really keeps quiet is when he gets to drink Vitagen.





Jaden, this time round did not behave when we sang him his birthday song. He was in fact jumping up and down because he wanted to play instead. Hubby just grabbed on to him and we quickly finish up with the birthday singsong, some photos and off the small one went again to play and play and play.

Its his birthday party after all and he gets to do what he wants.











The little party ended up at about 10pm, which some guests already left earlier because well, they have kids and I totally understand their situation. It was only those adults and the friends of mine from college who had their own mini gathering playing at the other side because they were all smoking!!!!

Kids party = No smoking allowed anywhere near!

All of us came back home nearing 1130pm and my LKW friends dropped over at my place for some chitchat session since I didn't get to be with them much earlier.

Jaden ended his night by pooing in front of my friends, in which, soon after they all left for home. =)

Caught him to bathe and wash up, and soon WWei and I helped him open all his presents and he displayed them all on the TV cabinet.

Ended the night around 3am, which all of us were so tired that when we hit the bed, we fell instantly asleep. As for Hubby, he called it a night earlier than us girls and Jaden.

That was how Jaden's 2nd birthday party went. p/s: I don't think there will be another party of this scale until Jaden is a bit more grown up (like 5 or something) which he understands simple instructions like No! Come and eat first play later! and saying Hello and Thank you to his guests...

Thankfully the weather was good throughout... thank you thank you.. and now to end this post to thank all those that came...
